Job Description Evolva is a dynamic, 10-year old, technology company with an excellent track record of developing high value ingredients for health, wellness and nutrition, based on advanced molecular biology and fermentation technologies. One such product is Resveratrol, an ingredient traditionally associated with red wine, and currently used in dietary supplements, beverages, and cosmetics. Resveratrol is being launched in Q4-2014 and is the first ingredient that Evolva is commercializing ourselves (as opposed to via partners). We now seek a Product Manager to play a key role in making Resveratrol a success. You will be a highly experienced individual capable of acting as our Resveratrol Expert, knowing the product and its potential inside out. You will act as the internal ”go-to-person”, coordinating all aspects of the product (across R&D, scientific affairs, applications development, regulatory, marketing, sales, supply chain, etc.) required to generate sustained sales growth and expansion into new markets and applications. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders within Evolva, and with our global distributor/customer network to ensure consistent and dependable Resveratrol supply to customers, and resolve product related matters with customers in a timely manner. You will develop offensive marketing strategies for Resveratrol (storytelling, marketing, pricing, business and strategic planning) and implement them globally. Responsibilities Evolva has a flexible, dynamic culture, and everyone is expected to “do whatever is good for Evolva”. Within this culture, your main responsibilities will be to: 1. Develop and disseminate the Resveratrol story in liaison with internal and external stakeholders. 2. Prepare, implement and coordinate marketing and product strategy: Identify, qualify and quantify the needs of the market. Recommend and establish pricing strategies. Collect, analyse and disseminate competitor, market and industry information. Prepare technical and commercial materials for marketing, product launches and tradeshows. Provide technical and commercial training for both distributors and Evolva’s sales force. Provide specialist support in key sales situations. Plan and implement promotional campaigns. Prepare and present conference papers. Provide forecasts and input to strategic plans. Represent Evolva (across all categories) and participate in relevant associations. Identify and advise on potential product improvements and additional products. Required experience and attitude Minimum of 5 years of Product Manager experience in a relevant industry sector. Proven track record in new ingredient development and positioning. Dietary supplement or food ingredient sector experience together with a “rolodex” of relevant customer contacts desirable. Education: a relevant scientific or commercial degree required. Creative and imaginative with a demonstrated ability to turn ideas into results. Able to relate to and coordinate people in various business sectors (operations, sales, marketing, planning, technical, senior management) and to operate effectively in an international environment. A proactive self-starter and a good team player. Positive attitude and an ability to deal with change. Fluent oral and written English and a strong communicator. Other languages desirable but not required. Ability to travel regularly, both domestically and internationally. Ability to maintain highest professional standards in terms of customer relationships, personal appearance and overall image. Experience and understanding of the needs and culture of a dynamic young entrepreneurial company. Ability to thrive in complex, ambiguous environments that contain a high degree of pressure as well as of opportunity. The position is located in either Basel (Switzerland) or Copenhagen (Denmark).
