Congratulations: Senior Grace Woodard has been awarded the $84,000 Presidential Scholarship from the University of Portland! Congratulations Grace! Congratulations: Back in October 2013, Senior Keign Vedvick met with Spokanimal C.A.R.E. to discuss options for his senior culminating project. Four years ago, he had built picnic tables for Spokanimals dog park at High Bridge to achieve his Eagle Scout, so it was decided that he would build two picnic shelters to house some of those picnic tables and to shield dog owners from the weather. One shelter would be 20X20 in the large dog park area and the other would be a 10X12 in the small dog park area. Keign started the process of getting an architect to draw up the plans and meeting with local contractors and businesses for donations. In the spring, the junior class was informed that the senior culminating project was no longer required for graduation, however Keign wanted to follow through with his project. After meeting with the city to get the plans approved and obtaining a building permit, Keign and several volunteers spent many summer and fall hours building two amazing shelters. Such a great young man to give back to the community! Here are the results of Keign's labors! INFORMATION Booster Bash: The annual Booster Bash is this Saturday night, November 8. Tickets are $10 at the door. A Midsummer Night’s Dream, is perhaps one of William Shakespeare’s most widely produced and accessible plays. LC Tiger Drama sets this production in the early 1900’s where rigid lines of culture are drawn and dictated. But we see freedom can be found in the boundless realm of the imagination. This version is an adaptation by Hilary Tate from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and runs shorter than the full length version. The cast of A Midsummer Night’s Dream includes: Chloe Forsberg, Ilan Hernandez, Julian Lee and Jackson McMurray as the star crossed lovers and Tristan Bolen, Bailey Heppler, and Megan Rosenau are leaders of the manipulative fairy band. Jillian Burgess, Noel Case, Tyese Chumov, Liam Schaff, Grant Thayer, and Victoria Whiteaker entertain as the bumbling players rehearsing and performing the play within a play.
