Security System For Riverside Lakes
Thanks to the hard work done by
Ken Knaub and Robert Lynn, along
with the financial support of both
RLRA and the SID, Riverside Lakes
will soon have an state of the art security system. RLRA contributed
$6000 towards the installation of the
system.
The equipment will consist of
multiple security cameras that will
have the capability of photographing
both the license plate of vehicles, and
identifying the driver with high quality graphics. The cameras will be in a
secure position and will also have the
ability of identifying any potential
vandals to the equipment. Additionally, the cameras will have the ability
to help protect the boating lake ramp
for both vandalism protection and zebra mussel protection. The images
will be watermarked and capable of
standing as evidence if necessary.
We have been assured by the equipment vendor, SEI, this is the highest
quality equipment with state of art
specifications necessary for our community.
The contract has been signed and
the installation is in process. We
should be fully operational by November 1st.
If you have questions, please contact Robert Lynn at 402-651-4268 or

Great Times at Riverside Lakes Summer Fun Days!
Did you miss the fun? Well, if you
did be sure to mark your calendar for
our annual Summer Fun Days next August. Here’s a recap of the week’s
events:
We began on Saturday morning with
the Fishing Tournament. Young and
old baited their hooks in hopes of getting the “catch of the day”. The winners were: Big Lake = Biggest Fish
Adult: John Ramm, 4 pounds. Biggest Fish Child: Mia Clark, 3.3 pounds
Small Lake= Biggest Fish Adult:
Sandy McKinney, 1.5 pounds. Biggest
Fish Child: Ayva Boekhout, 2 pounds.
That night the Tapas and
Tiramisu parties were held. Although
this is not a Riverside Lakes Recreation
Association [RLRA] event, we kicked
off the week with a bang! From the
Beatlemania, on to a Amigos del
Lago, Children of Woodstock,
Caddyshack and finally Red Neck
Yacht Club- each had their own special flare. After all of this, we ended the
evening with the Tiramisu Party =
Augtoberfest, complete with a live
Polka band!
The annual Horseshoe Tournament
was held on Sunday. After a tough
competition, Jim Meier was awarded
the trophy, for the second straight year!
Family Night was held on Tuesday. We added hot dogs and lots
of fun new games this year.
Lots of children and grandchildren who took part in this event
had fun on the water slide, played
beanbag toss, had their face
painted or took aim with water
balloons, then cooled off with a
delicious snow cone.
It was nice to see so many families take part in this event.
On Thursday, we held the
third annual Duck Race. Hundreds of
little ducks floated and bobbed down
the Elkhorn River as participants
cheered their ducks on to victory. The
winning duck belonged to Charlyn
Westley!
Believe it or not that was not all! On
Fourth of July Fun at Riverside Lakes!
The RLRA would like to thank everyone who donated to the fireworks this
year! Once again a magnificent
light show was held over the Riverside Lakes skies.
A flotilla of decorated boats
paraded around the Boating and
Fishing lakes on the Fourth too.
The trophies went to Rocky Mountain High (Hicks/Burke/Pettegrew) on
the Boating Lake, and Russ & Jan
Stork for the Fishing Lake.
A big THANK YOU to all
the teams who participated in the
Fourth of July Boat Parade! As
usual, the parade was a hit with
all ages and spectators! Start
thinking and/or looking for ideas
for next year!
Saturday morning the Triathlon
brought out some terrific athletes. They
ran, swam and rode their bikes around
the lakes. The trophies were awarded
to: Adult division = Peyton Hottovy,
Children’s division= Avery Wright.
Congratulations to all our winners!
We culminated the week’s events
with our Dinner Dance in the
park. Chicken was provided by
RLRA while attendees brought
sides and desserts. We have some
wonderful cooks at the lake! Everything was yummy!
Residents danced to the tunes of
DJ Doug E Fresh (Doug Eggen).
Thanks to all who helped and
participated in Summer Fun Days. If
you missed out , look ahead to next
year and mark your calendars as soon
as the dates are announced in the newsletter. It’s a great way to meet and socialize with your Riverside Lake’s
neighbors!
Mark Your Calendars!
The Annual Meeting for Riverside Lakes Residents will be:
Tuesday, January 20th, 2015.
The meeting will start at 6:30
pm, but we’re still determining a
location.
Please Be Mindful of Our Runners/Walkers!
It’s great to see so many of our
residents out running/walking around
the lakes in the early mornings and
into the evenings. Even though we
won’t ‘fall back’ to Standard Time
until November 2, the days are definitely getting shorter!
To our runners/walkers: please be
aware of how important it is to
wear reflective gear! Many of our
Page 2
residents leave for work/school before
the sun comes up, or they come home
after it’s set. It is very difficult to see
you on the road if you’re not wearing
reflective gear!
Here are some suggestions to make
Riverside Lakes a safer place:
Walkers:
Walk facing traffic.
Wear bright reflective clothing.
Carry a flashlight or other light source.
Be alert to engine noises or cars backing out of driveways.
Drivers:
Be patient! Our speed limit here is 25
mph!
Use extra caution; there are lots of
youngsters in our neighborhood now...
always be prepared to stop!
