Blessing of graves - The blessing of graves will take place at Henley Road Cemetery this Sunday at 3pm. RCIA – There will be a meeting at the Presbytery for those who have expressed an interest in joining this years RCIA course on Thursday at 7pm. First Holy Communion preparation – There will be a meeting for the all parents and children on Tuesday 18 th November at 4pm in church for those children wishing to make their First Holy Communion in 2015. (Longing for the Messiah) Advent talks – Have you ever wanted to know more about the Old Testament readings we hear during the Sundays of Advent? There will be two evenings offering opportunities to reflect upon these readings and pray about them. The first is on Wednesday 19th November at English Martyrs church and the second on Wednesday 26th November at St John Bosco church, Woodley. Refreshments from 7pm for a 7.30pm start and a 9pm finish. All are warmly invited. Traidcraft Sale – On Friday 7th 9am-9pm and Saturday 8th November 9.30am-2pm there will be a Traidcraft sale of Fair Trade gifts, jewellery, cards, wrapping paper, food and chocolates at 97 South View Avenue. They will also be selling tea, coffee, homemade jam, chutney and cakes with the proceeds of the refreshments going to the Royal Berks Robbie Appeal. All welcome, please come along. Mass at Mapledurham – On the last Sunday of each, month Mass will be held at 6pm in the chapel at Mapledurham House. All most welcome. Next Summer in Düsseldorf? - Would you like to join a group of Christians from Reading who will be visiting our twin city in Germany from 1st – 8th August 2015? We will be staying in the homes of church members there, and getting to know the people and the area, via an organised programme and free time activities.
