INTROIT - Hymn #357 The Days Are Surely Coming
The days are surely coming, says God to all the earth
when you will see my promise: salvation come to birth.
My righteousness and justice will spread throughout the land
and you will be delivered by my almighty hand.
The days are surely coming, says Christ, the promised one,
when you will read my warning in moon and stars and sun.
Though earth and heaven tremble, stand up and do not fear
for I am your redeemer, and I am drawing near.
The days are surely coming, when we will know at last
the fullness of God’s presence, God’s promise, come to pass.
Then righteousness and justice will spread throughout the land
and we will be delivered by God’s almighty hand.
*CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm 1)
LEADER: The Lord be with you.
PEOPLE: And also with you.
LEADER: How lovely is Your dwelling place oh Lord of hosts.
PEOPLE: My soul longs for the sanctuary of our worship.
LEADER: My heart sings for joy to the living God.

ALL:
Let us worship God.
*HYMN #362 Rejoice, Rejoice, Believers
*CONFESSION OF FAITH (from the Confession of 1967)
With an urgency born of hope, the church applies itself
to present tasks and strives for a better world. It does
not identify limited progress with the kingdom of God
on earth, nor does it despair in the face of
disappointment and defeat. In steadfast hope, the
church looks beyond all partial achievement to the final
triumph of God.

Please join us in this 14th Annual “United We Sing”
Celebration an interfaith and intercultural service of
music, word and dance. This event has its origins in the
aftermath of September 11, 2001. In anguish and sorrow,
we came together from our different cultural and faith
traditions to proclaim and celebrate our rich diversity. The
healing effect of the evening led us to repeat the event with
presentations over the last thirteen years from the Baha’i,
Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jain, Jewish, Muslim, Native
American, Quaker, Sikh, Unitarian Universalist, and other
communities. Children are especially welcome to attend
and participate. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
