Tech Time
at the Library
Visit www.scottlib.org and select “Library Calendar” in the
Events tab to see the book clubs, musical events, and
educational opportunities at all the Scott County libraries.

to answer questions and provide
support and guidance with technology-related issues. Drop in for help

This 5-piece group (led by Dan Newton, master of the French musette
style) performs swing, Latin, and European folk music styles, all with a
touch of whimsy. No dance instruction tonight, but we’ll leave room for
you to dance if you can’t resist.

Minneapolis journalist and editor
Peterson Smith will talk about her
book Off the Beaten Page: The Best
Trips for Lit Lovers, Book Clubs and
Girls on Getaways. The book
encourages avid readers, especially
those in book clubs, to experience in person the places
they've read about. She’ll share suggested travel
destinations as well as book list suggestions based on years
of excursions with her own book club.

but don't know where to begin? Learn the core elements of
crafting a novel to get you started.
Fiction Writing Basics
Monday, 11/10 from 6:00-7:30 pm
Elko-New Market Library
You've got your story or novel idea down, maybe even a
first draft. What's next? You need to create detailed,
interesting characters to inhabit your newly created world,
and a plot that keeps the action moving forward. Come
learn to develop memorable settings and an exciting plot,
and to write believable characters with depth and
complexity.

the Scott Co Board of Commissioners and meets monthly. The public is always welcome at library board meetings.
