The woman went to the Salmiya police station and complained against the man for causing her injuries. She also alleged that her former husband destroyed everything on the table. Waiters at the restaurant saved her. Police are looking for the suspect for questioning. Meanwhile, Farwaniya police are looking for a man who entered his ex-wife’s house and beat her. The woman told police that her ex-husband stormed the house and beat her due to an ongoing court dispute. Domestic violence A citizen accused her husband of beating and taking her smartphone. The woman went to Fahd Al-Ahmad police station and submitted a medical report claiming that her husband had caused her injuries. The husband is being summoned for questioning. ‘Love messages’ A man in Abu Halifa lodged a complaint to police that an unknown person was sending love messages to his wife’s mobile phone. When he tried to call the number, no one answered. Police are working on the case. KUWAIT: The participants in a group photo. —Photos by Joseph Shagra By Nawara Fattahova KUWAIT: The Japanese Society in Kuwait (JSK) in cooperation with the Environment Public Authority (EPA) and the Kuwait Environment Protection Society (KEPS) held its annual ‘Operation Turtles’ beach cleanup at the Shuwaikh beach yesterday. Volunteers collected tens of kilograms of waste and litter during an hour of cleaning. More than 200 volunteers from all ages including young children from Japan and Kuwait participated in this activity, along with members of many other groups, schools and Kuwait University. This activity was attended by Toshihiro Tsujihara, Ambassador of Japan to Kuwait, who welcomed the participants at the beginning of the event. “I’m glad to see this large number of volunteers coming today to pick Brotherly hate Two brothers who exchanged blows were charged at Adan police station over the sale of a car. She told police that the man promised he would marry her and got her pictures. But when the promise was not kept, she broke up with him and rejected all his attempts to restore the relationship. Later, she was surprised by his threats. Police are working on the case. One of the young participants called upon the public to refrain from throwing garbage on the beaches so that the turtles will be able to return to the beach. “It’s a great feeling to make our county clean and beautiful, and this is exactly what will encourage the turtles to come back to the beach,” she pointed out. Electricity, water consumption categories ready KUWAIT: A ministerial economic committee recently completed a study on electricity and water consumption categories and the suggested fee increases, said governmental sources, noting that the proposals made by MEW and the Supreme Planning Council had already been approved and that the matter would be reviewed by the Cabinet later this month. During the meeting, Samhan relied to the Qatari chief the greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah and Chief of staff of the Kuwaiti army Lieutenant General Mohammad Khaled Al-Kheder. The meeting was attended by a number of senior armed forces officers. Separately, Lt Gen Al-Khder met yesterday with an official from the Bangladeshi army.
