Message from the
Governing Board
Greetings HUSD #3 Stakeholders,
The Holbrook Unified School District
Governing Board would like to take
this opportunity to express our gratitude for your efforts to make the Holbrook School District the great district
that it is.
We are a school district that focuses
on helping every student become who
he or she is capable of becoming. It
takes all of us to make this happen.
Education: It is of historical importance
Welcome back to the 2014-2015 school year! We are excited for another great year at HUSD #3!
The Holbrook Unified School District started this year with a very important theme: Education: It is of historical importance. This
theme was chosen to remind all of us that education is the gateway to
helping each child reach his or her potential.
HUSD #3 continues to build systems to help each child reach his or
her potential by building a solid foundation for each child to PASS.
P-A-S-S stands for developing students P-ersonally, A-cademically, Socially, and for S-uccess. As a school district, we know that if we can
develop a student holistically, we are preparing that student for success.
We encourage you to get involved in
the education of your children. This
can be accomplished through simply
promoting school as an essential part
of life. If kids know education is important to us, they will believe it is important to them also.
Through a partnership with parents, we feel that every child has unlimited potential to achieve maximum success at HUSD #3. We ask that
parents help bridge the gap to success by spending time with your
children explaining the value of education, the importance of education, and setting aspirations and goals for the future. Simply talking
about success and setting expectations to help your child succeed will
The Holbrook School District has many
go a very long way in helping them become who they are capable of
ways for you to assist your child and
the children of your community in help- becoming. With that support, HUSD #3 can accelerate each student’s

teering, attending school events, and
consistently communicating with the
school administration and teachers are
just a few ways that you can make a
difference in the education of our
youth.
Thank you for your efforts in Helping
our Unique Students Develop. Keep
up the good work and don’t underestimate your impact on our education
system.
Our ultimate goal at HUSD #3 is to help your child become a doctor, a
chemist, a welder, an engineer, or whatever it is that he or she may
choose to do after graduating from the Holbrook Unified School District.
Together we can build a foundation through our K-12 education system to help your child reach his or her potential.
Together we can help your child become who he or she is capable of
becoming!

Student Achievement is on the Rise at HUSD #3
Annual test scores allow our district to analyze our effectiveness in helping students
achieve. Students in grades 3rd-10th are compared to other students around the state using the same measuring stick: AIMS (Arizona Instrument to Measure Standards). HUSD #3
tracks student proficiency over time by individual student, by cohorts, and by school and
district levels. The following data demonstrates our students continual rise to success
through high quality academic programs!

Graduation and Beyond!
Whether your child is just starting school as a Kindergarten student or preparing for the last few months of their
Senior year, graduation should be a constant in our minds. Achieving a high school diploma is a pivotal step towards reaching one’s potential and can develop pathways to new levels of success. The following chart outlines the
impact of education on a person’s earning potential over their lifetime. It all begins by meeting their potential in a
free K-12 education. (taken from the National Center on Educational Statistics)
Once a Roadrunner, Always a Roadrunner!
The Holbrook Unified School District takes pride in helping students reach their potential in our K-12 program. HUSD #3 outperforms the state averages in every graduation category. Parents can take pride in knowing that through the demonstration
of “skill” and “will”, your child will be a successful Roadrunner Alum!
