Upon reflection, when our choices and behaviors have led to fuller Life for ourselves and others, we know we have nothing to fear from a judgment. Indeed, we can even look forward to it. 2nd Reading (1 THESSALONIANS 5: 1 - 6) Paul insists that the End has in some sense already come. Christian believers are already children of the light and the day. The imperative is based on an indicative: Be what you are, children of the light and the day. Here is the final answer to the fanaticism of parousiac excitement. It is not a matter for idle curiosity but one of living here and now in the power of the future that we have already begun to participate in through baptism. Gospel (MATTHEW 25: 14 - 30 OR 14 - 15, 19 - 21) Every servant in this gospel parable is given riches by the master with the expectation that each servant will increase what has been given. Even one talent was a significant amount of riches. To bury it was to waste its potential. The servant who does so out of fear, wickedness, laziness is condemned by the master upon his return and loses even what he has. The wealth each of us has been given by our Master is a share in his very Life. Even a small amount is an incalculable richness. We will be judged by how we have chosen to allow this Life to increase, to grow within us. To choose otherwise is to bury our very selves. We regret any inconveniences caused. - Senior Parishioners' Ministry, SVDP DISCONTINUATION OF SVDP SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE Dear Parishioners, as you are aware the Parish tried out pilot runs of the shuttle bus service on Sundays for the 9AM & 11am Masses, to help the elderly and the young children, who were finding it difficult to commute the public transport to & from church. This was tried out during the months of August and September for about 5 weeks as well as during the 9-day Church Feast Day masses for parishioners of Serangoon North, Hougang, Fernvale and Buangkok. We regret to inform that the service had to be discontinued for the reason of poor response especially during the onward trips to church before mass. ADVENT RECOLLECTION FOR MIGRANTS Dear migrants, you are invited to the Advent Recollection for Migrants conducted by Fr Frank Aniban to be held on Sunday, 30 Nov, 230pm at Room 04-01. Please contact Mrs Belen Tan (97572847) if you would like to attend. 2015 CATECHISM SESSIONS The timings for 2015 Catechism sessions have been finalized and all children have been assigned to a class. Because of large class sizes and unequal class distribution in 2014, we have planned for equal class numbers for all levels next year. This will help us to minister more effectively to our young people. As such, some of our young people have been re-assigned to a different class timings next year. Please check your child’s class time for 2015 on the notice board next to the Adoration Room. We urge all parents to support this by sticking to the given timing for your child. However, if your child needs to make a switch, please visit the Parish Office and fill up a form by latest 31 December 2014. We will try our best to accommodate your request, if possible. Thank you for your cooperation. Details on registration for Level 1 will be announced soon. 2015 Session timings for L1-L9 : LEVEL SAT 10.30-11.45am SAT 2.00-3.15/3.45pm L1 Session 1 Session 2 L2 Session 1 Session 2 L3 Session 1 Session 2 L4 Session 1 L5 Session 1 Session 2 L6 Session 1 Session 2 L7 SAT 4.00-5.15/5.45PM Session 2 1 session only L8 1 session only L9 1 session only L1-L6 sessions last 1hr. 15min.
