3rd COOL ‘PEER-LED CRISIS SUPPORT PROJECT’ Introductory Meeting 2pm - 4.30pm at The Cool House with
Jo Hammond (S. Devon & Torbay Clinical Commissioning Group). Cool Recovery & the NHS are working
together to pilot the project to recruit volunteers with experience, who are interested in supporting those in
crisis who present themselves or are advised by the Crisis Team to attend A&E at Torbay Hospital. A seven
week course will be available which will include basic counselling skills, role play, de-escalation techniques &
specific training from the Crisis Team. The Project will start in January 2015 based at the Cool House. This is
an exciting new venture & an opportunity to show those involved in Mental Health Services the value of Cool
Recovery, the members & what we can offer. We need you to make it work. Find out more at the meeting or

15 YEARS OF COOL, 10 YEARS OF COOL RECOVERY We want to celebrate our achievements despite the uncertain

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY 2014 Congratulations! Cool Members, well-wishers, families & friends who
responded to the Candlelight Vigil invitation to mark this day. Teignbridge Cool candle light group flew the Cool
Banner, created & paid for by two of their members, an Afghanistan veteran gratefully stopped to talk with them.
Totnes Cool engaged with evening shoppers to Morrisons supermarket. At Sainsbury's in Dartmouth an
enthusiastic Dart Cool & their candles attracted shoppers to stop & share a moment to reflect on mental health.
About 20 people gathered with candles at Cool House in Torquay & sent a message to The Torbay Times. In S. Brent
20 candle bearers illuminated the village centre & 15 others took their candles away to Treyarnon in Cornwall. A
lone member lit a candle in her window above Torbay. In Plymouth the 'Cool' candles burnt brightly. Further afield
Cool outreach to family members went far & wide. Candles were lit in a Buddhist temple in Burma, homes in
Blackawton, Thailand & Northern Ireland, a garden on the Cornish bank of the Tamar river, a nine candle Chanukah
in York, friends in Sidney, Australia & another working in Melawi. On the down side, Radio Devon, S Hams
Newspaper Group, did not take part. In case you are wondering there was no expense to Cool. One hundred
candles & holders, numerous phone calls & visits to groups, paper & printing costs were all taken care of by willing
members & helpful 'techies' in Cool House. Thank You to everyone who took part. Time to Change! (Photos (more
