This agenda item allows time for public comment on topics related to the Agenda. The
Committee would like the opportunity to hear the wishes and ideas of the public. Although
this is not a time for discussion, the School Committee appreciates public input and may
refer such comments to administration for appropriate follow-up.
SUB-COMMITTEE REPORTS
This agenda item provides opportunities for School Committee members to share
information relative to their respective subcommittee work. Subcommittee reports
connected with specific discussion items will be presented immediately prior to the
discussion item, rather than this section.
RECOGNITION AWARDS
Watson School cafeteria worker, Christine Saurette, for performing the Heimlich Maneuver
on a fifth grade student as he began to choke during lunch saving the student.
SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT
This agenda item will provide an opportunity for the Superintendent to share letters of
recognition, commendation, or other good news regarding activities associated with Fall
River Public Schools.

Director, Barbara Allard, a $200 donation from the Fall River Women’s Union to support
the Parent Child Home Program to purchase children’s books.
2. Superintendent Mayo-Brown requests acceptance, on behalf of Silvia School Principal,
Jean Facchiano, a $375 donation from the Mount Hope Masonic Angel Fund to fund
busing for a Grade 5 field trip to the Boston Museum of Science.
3. Superintendent Mayo-Brown requests acceptance, on behalf of Durfee High School
Principal, Paul Marshall, a $213.87 donation from Pel Industries which reflects Durfee’s
portion of royalties received from merchandise sold at local businesses with the school’s
logo.
