TAX COLLECTOR
Tax Bills have been mailed with a due date of
December 2, 2014.
Payment options include the following…
• On-line payments at www.northfieldnh.org by
credit card or electronic check (fees may apply).
• Town Clerks Office by check or cash, during
normal business hours of Mon, Thu, Fri 8:30am –
5:00pm, Tue 8:30am-7:00pm, Wed 8:30am –
12:30pm.
• By mail Town of Northfield 21 Summer Street

Selectmen
are
interested in selling old
wooden folding chairs that
have been stored in the
unfinished portion of the
Town Hall basement for
many years. Chairs will
be sold for $5.00 each,
there are approximately 75 chairs
available for sale. Persons interested in
purchasing one or more of the chairs
should contact Town Administrator Glenn

Verification, Motor Vehicle Accidents/Checks/Complaints and Lockouts.

TRAVELING BASKETBALL
SKI AND SNOWBOARD LESSONS
Registration for Pines Traveling Basketball (Grades
3 through 6) has been extended through Friday,
November 14, as we still have openings on these
teams.
We have four Traveling Basketball teams:
Boys Grades 3-4
Girls Grades 3-4
Boys Grades 5-6
Girls Grades 5-6
Costs $50.00 per child for Tilton and Northfield
residents, $60.00 per child for non-residents.
Practices:
• Boys Grades 3-4 Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:308:00 PM, starting November 18 (note time and
date change); the coach is Keith Hardy.
• Girls Grades 3-4 Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:006:30 PM, starting November 18; coach needed,
assistant coaches Christina Bradbury and Leah
Field.
• Boys Grades 5-6 Mondays & Wednesdays 6:308:00 PM, starting November 17; the coach is
Jocelyn Guerriero.
• Girls Grades 5-6 Wednesdays & Fridays 5:006:30 PM, starting November 19 (note time and
date change); a coach is needed to run this
program. Games will start in mid-December.
Parents are responsible for transporting children to
and from games. Register right away as all teams
are capped at 22 participants due to limited gym
space. All practices are at Southwick School. You
may sign up at the Pines or online through our
website.
Winter is getting closer and soon there will be
snow! Be prepared for the slopes by signing up at
the Pines for Skiing or Snowboarding lessons at
Gunstock Recreation Area. Register now, through
Wednesday, November 19. (Gunstock requires us
to submit all paperwork and payments by this time.)
This program is for kids in Kindergarten through
Grade 12. Cost is $180.00 per participant for Lift
and Lessons only. Lift, Lessons and ski or
snowboard rental is $280.00. Helmet rental is an
additional $30.00.
The lessons will be on Friday nights, January 9
through February 13, 2015 at 6:30 PM. Parents
provide their children’s transportation to and from
Gunstock; parents who are interested in
chaperoning must sign up at the Pines and fill out a
Gunstock waiver form. This year lessons are not
required to participate in Gunstock’s Outreach
program. Children and teens may pick up their
tickets at distribution time on Friday evenings and
ski or snowboard until the mountain closes. The
cost is the same as that listed above. The choice of
whether or not to take lessons must be made at
registration and cannot be changed. Again, parents
are responsible for transportation.
Our Rec Basketball program for boys and girls in
Kindergarten through Grade 2 is full. Practices are
on Mondays, 5:30 to 6:30 PM, beginning Monday,
November 17.
CLOSED
The Pines Community Center is closed Tuesday,
November 11 in honor of Veterans’ Day. We are
also closed Thursday and Friday, November 27 and
28, for the Thanksgiving holiday. There will be no
sports practices on these days.
SCHOOL VACATION DAY
School Vacation Camp Day at the Pines on
Wednesday, November 26, due to schools being
closed. We open at 7:00am and children must be
picked up by 5:30pm. This will be PJ and Movie
Day and we’ll order out for pizza for lunch.
Children are welcome to wear their pajamas,
bathrobes and slippers, but should also bring
outdoor clothes and shoes, as we will play outside if
the weather is nice. In the afternoon we’ll watch a
movie. Children are welcome to bring their
electronic games, (rated E only) to be used at
specific times. The cost is $32.00 per child, which
includes lunch. This program is for children in
Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Bring snacks,
drinks and warm outdoor clothing. Children must
be registered in advance by November 24, online or
at the Pines, and payment is due at registration.

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS BREAKFAST
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Join us here at the Pines Community Center on
Saturday, December 6, for our Annual Christmas
Breakfast. On the menu are pancakes, French toast,
scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, juice and
hot beverages. We serve from 7:30 AM to 10:00
AM, and Santa will be here from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.
The cost is $5.00 for adults and $3.50 for children
under ten. The total cost for an entire family
(immediate family) will not exceed $25.00. $1.00
of every adult ticket sold will be donated to MIX
94.1’s Cash-n-Cans” program; Fred Caruso will be
broadcasting live from the Pines.
We still have a few openings available in our after
school program and are accepting registrations now.
Registration is on a first come, first served basis,
and must be accompanied by a non-refundable
payment for the first and last months of the
program. After Class Blast is $115.00 per month
and runs Monday through Friday from 3:20 to 5:30
PM. This program is for children in Grades 1
through 5, and afternoon Kindergarten. Children
must be registered in advance at the Pines. Our
before school program is full at the moment.
ELVES NIGHT
Elves Night is for children in
Kindergarten through Grade Five, and is
designed to give parents the opportunity
for Christmas shopping without children,
other holiday-related activities, a dinner
date, or just a time to breathe. It’s important to
remember to breathe during the often frantic
holiday season. Let us entertain your children from
5:30 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday, December 12. The
cost is $25.00 per child. We need a minimum of
five children to run this program and can
accommodate a maximum of twenty. We will do
holiday-themed activities and crafts and have pizza
for dinner. The evening will end with a holiday
movie and popcorn. Children may bring their
pajamas to change into for movie time. Register in
advance, online or at the Pines, by Wednesday,
December 10.
LINE DANCE
Line Dance at the Pines has resumed on Monday
evenings. There is an Ultra-Beginners Class from
6:30PM to 7:30PM and the Improvers/Intermediate
Class is from 7:00PM to 8:30PM. The half hour
overlap in the two classes, from 7:00PM to 7:30PM,
is the Improvers/Intermediate Class warm-up time.
Dancers are welcome to participate in both class
sections if they wish. The cost is $7.00 for the
evening. Karen Heyes is the instructor. Advance
registration is not needed. There will be no class on
November 24, the Monday before Thanksgiving.
