Ohio Department of Transportation • Construction Update DISTRICT 5 • DAVE RAY, P.E., P.S., DISTRICT DEPUTY DIRECTOR 9600 Jacksontown Road • Jacksontown, OH 43030 www.transportation.ohio.gov/dist5 ODOT District 5 Weekly Traffic Advisory For the week of November 14, 2014 The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 5, which includes the counties of Coshocton, Fairfield, Guernsey, Knox, Licking, Muskingum, and Perry. COSHOCTON COUNTY Ongoing The Lake Park Pedestrian Bridge: The closure of this structure is schedule for November 19, 2014. Crews will work between Roscoe Village and Lake Park on the pedestrian foot bridge. Pedestrian and bike traffic will be detoured to White Woman street, Chestnut Street, 2nd Street, and to Bridge Street. The estimated completion date is June 30, 2015. GUERNSEY COUNTY November 17 *New SR 313: The road will close east of Linwood Rd. Crews will work to rebuild the Railroad crossing beginning at 6:30 a.m. Monday and the road will reopen Friday, November 21st, at 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. Detour: SR 313 to IR 77 to SR 209 to SR 821 Ongoing SR 209: Closed from the Cambridge City limits to Coshocton Ave beginning October 15th for 30 days for slip repair. Detour: SR 209 to SR 83 to US 22 and reverse. KNOX COUNTY November 17 *New Crews will be performing bridge inspection. Work will take place 7:30am-4:30pm. While this work is performed, traffic will be restricted to one lane at the locations listed below. US 36 between SR 768 and Austin Rd. over the Kokosing River US 62 between US 36 and Hazel Dell Rd. over the Kokosing River SR 13 between Waterford Rd. and Quaker Rd. over the North Branch of the Kokosing River US 36 between SR 229 and Dike Street over the Kokosing River SR 514 in Greer over the Mohican River Ongoing *Updated Crews will continue performing ditch and berm repairs throughout the county. Work will take place 7:30am4:30pm. While this work is performed, traffic will be restricted to one lane at the locations listed below. SR 314 between US 36 and the Morrow Co. Line SR 13 just south of Murray Rd. LICKING COUNTY November 15 *New SR 668/I-70: Ramp to westbound I-70 will be closed and I-70 will be restricted. Crews will be brush cutting on the ramp and along I-70 westbound. Work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday November 16th. Detour SR 40 to SR 13 back to I-70. Ongoing SR 661: Crews will work from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. starting with shoulder repairs north of Granville to the Knox County line. Resurfacing on SR 661 will begin in 2015 at the intersection of State Route 37 State Route 661 and State Route 16 South of Granville in Licking County, running through the Village on SR 661 and continue north to Knox County. Refugee/York Road Intersection: Work will continue on a bridge replacement and improvement project, without affecting traffic. Contractor working on the bridge abutments and piers. A one day road closure will occur in Late-November to accommodate heavy construction traffic during the placement of the concrete bridge deck. No other closures will occur until Spring 2015. Estimated completion of the project is fall of 2015. MUSKINGUM COUNTY November 7 SR 93: The road will close just north of Houts Rd and South of SR 662 for culvert replacements. The road will reopen Friday, November 14th at 5:00 p.m., weather permitting. Detour: SR 83S to SR 209 E to SR 662 N and reverse. Ongoing SR 60: The road opened 10/8. There is still some paving and guardrail work to be completed. Flaggers will be used to maintain 2-way traffic. Interstate 70: Crews continue to work on a mine grouting project on I-70 under the existing westbound pavement and shoulders. All traffic will continue to travel on the eastbound pavement. Work will also begin at the SR 95/IR 70 interchange, making it necessary for SR 93 to close for 16 days, between the WB ramps, beginning on November 10th. Westbound I-70 traffic will still be unable to access the off ramp to SR 93 and traffic will be unable to access IR 70 WB from SR 93. Detour for WB IR-70 to SR 93 South: Exit at Airport Road and turn left, to US 22/40, then right on US 22/40 to SR 93. Detour for SB 93 to IR 70: SR 93 to SR 83 South, to IR 70. (Follow the above detour to continue south on SR 93) Detour for NB 93: From either direction on IR 70, take Exit 169 at SR 83 and proceed north to SR 93. PERRY COUNTY Ongoing *Update SR 13: The road closed between New Lexington and Six Mile Turn. Crews will be brush cutting each day from 7:30a.m.-3:00p.m. The road will reopen Friday, November 28th, weather permitting. Detour: to SR 93 North to 669 West to 345 South to 13 North and reverse. SR 37: The road closed East of New Lexington to Portersville. Crews will be replacing multiple culverts from now until the end of the year. Crews will work from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. Motorists should expect delays or possible detours. If a closure it necessary it will take place during daytime hours only. DISTRICT WIDE Ongoing Drivers can expect to see crews throughout the entire district marking pavement. The workers will work either as a moving operation or close one lane of a four way highway as needed. Work will start in Muskingum county and continue until May 2015 as part of a safety project to improve visibility of pavement markers to drivers. Various bridge repairs will continue this summer throughout Fairfield and Licking County. Workers are currently resurfacing bridges and any lane closures will take place at night. Guardrail repair will be taking place this summer and into April 2015. Crews may close lanes and use flaggers to maintain traffic for short periods of time as needed. Various traffic signal upgrades are being performed throughout the district. Workers are installing new poles, cables, signal heads and up-to-date controller equipment.
