Stroke screening
at St. Joseph’s
Church Tuesday
Residents living in and
around the Crosby community
can be screened to reduce their
risk of having a stroke or bone
fracture. St Joseph’s Church
will host Life Line Screening
on Nov. 25. The site is located
at 617 Poplar Street in Crosby.
Marijo
and
Wayne
Thoreson of Forest Lake
attended a Life Line Screening
and said, "If we hadn't gone to
the screening, we would never
have known about the problem". This event is being sponsored by Brainerd Lakes Heart
and Vascular Center at Essentia
Health
Four key points every person needs to know:
—Stroke is the third leading
cause of death and a leading
cause of permanent disability.
—80 percent of stroke victims had no apparent warning
signs prior to their stroke.
—Preventive ultrasound
screenings can help you avoid a
stroke.
—Screenings are fast, noninvasive, painless, affordable
and convenient.
Screenings identify potential cardiovascular conditions
such as blocked arteries and
irregular heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and hardening of the arteries in the legs,
which is a strong predictor of
heart disease. A bone density
screening to assess osteoporosis
risk is also offered and is appropriate for both men and women.
Packages start at $149. All
five screenings take 60 to 90
minutes to complete. For more
information regarding the
screenings or to schedule an
appointment, call 1-877-2371287 or visit our Web site at
www.lifelinescreen ing.com.

In Memory of
Muriel M Craft
9-14-1921 — 11-21-2013
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was
not to be, so he pu this arms around you and
whispered, “Come with me.”
With tearful eyes we watched you,
and saw you pass away, and although we
loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
he only takes the best.
