Tellabs 1000 Multiservice Access Platform (MSAP) HDSL2 Transceiver (T1HD2-XCVR) ®
TELLABS DATA SHEET Tellabs® 1000 Multiservice Access Platform (MSAP) HDSL2 Transceiver (T1HD2-XCVR) Overview The T1HD2 transceiver plug-in card provides one T-1 rate interface, over one copper pair, using standard HDSL2 (ANSI T1.418). This line card supports CSA transmission distances over 26 AWG and 24 AWG (i.e., 9 kft and 12 kft respectively) and supports up to one (1) HDSL2 repeater in a span. The T1HD2 provides the benefit of using existing copper facilities to support applications such as transport between Tellabs® 1000 terminals and for providing legacy T-1 services. The T1HD2 also provides better spectral compatibility with ADSL, supporting transmission of HDSL2 and ADSL in the same binder group. Further, up to 20 T1HD2 cards can be installed in a single shelf with repeater support. T1HD2XCVR FAIL ACTV LOC REM LBK E O U T The T1HD2-XCVR card can function in an unframed format to allow for intact (asynchronous) T-1 delivery to subscribers. It can also function in a framed format to deliver groomed T-1 service. The T1HD2-XCVR may be used for T-1 transport between Tellabs 1000 terminals and supports Tellabs 1000 multiservice access platform span protection. The T1HD2-XCVR performs ANSI signaling conversion and data link termination. The transceiver supports TC PAM encoding, alarm thresholds, BER calculation, performance monitoring statistics and alarm history. F E I N C C The T1HD2-XCVR transmits over unconditioned, non-repeatered facilities. For longer transmission distances, the T1HD2 is capable of line powering one ADTRAN HDSL2 range extender (HRE) and one HDSL2 Termination Unit (HTU), supporting up to 24 kft on 24 AWG. For all applications, copper facilities may be utilized without removing bridged taps or providing binder group separation. Bridged tap parameters support either one continuous tap (not greater than 2,000 feet) or total tap distances not to exceed 2,500 feet.
