1 East Whitestone Boulevard
The city of Cedar Park and the Texas
Department of Transportation are continuing
work on a 16-month pass-through
project that will rebuild the intersection of
Whitestone Boulevard and Parmer Lane/
Ronald Reagan Boulevard into a partial
continuous-flow intersection. Workers have
started the project by breaking ground on
the north side of Whitestone east of CR 272
and have also begun work on the Brushy
Creek bridge. When the pass-through project
is finished, Whitestone will be widened from
four to six lanes between Market Street and
CR 175/Sam Bass Road. The highway will
also have added or extended turn lanes at
Whitestone’s intersections with Toro Grande
Drive, Raley Road and Sam Bass Road.

The city of Cedar Park has begun a project to
add dual left-turn lanes to both sides of Bell
Boulevard at Cypress Creek Road. Some work
may occur at night. No lanes will be closed
from 5–9 a.m. and 3–9 p.m. Monday through
Friday.

2 West Whitestone Boulevard
TxDOT added turn lanes at West Whitestone’s
junctions with Bell and Discovery boulevards
and will add a center turn lane on Whitestone
between Anderson Mill and Bagdad roads.

On Oct. 21 the Mobility Authority installed
traffic signals near the Scottsdale
Crossing industrial park. The signal began
operating in four-way flash mode until
becoming fully operational Oct. 28.

3 Toll 183A frontage roads
In mid-November the Central Texas Regional
Mobility Authority plans to finish repaving all
Toll 183A frontage roads. Frontage lanes will
stay open Monday through Friday during
peak hours between 6–9 a.m. for southbound
lanes and 3:30–7 p.m. for northbound lanes.
Engineers have resurfaced access roads and
ramps in Leander and have worked their way
south to Cedar Park access roads and ramps.

6 Bagdad Road
In December the city of Cedar Park plans to
finish widening Bagdad Road to four lanes
between New Hope Drive and Whitestone
Boulevard. The project includes additional
sidewalks and turn lane improvements.

TxDOT finished restriping six lanes of East Whitestone Boulevard in Cedar Park in front
of 1890 Ranch Shopping Center, a task left over from the 2010 rebuild of the highway.
October 2014
TxDOT plans to finish repairing and overlaying about 1.8 miles of US 183 in Leander
between its intersection with Toll 183A and Old FM 2243 at a cost of about $1.19 million.
August–spring 2015
Williamson County is widening RM 620 to a four-lane divided road along nearly 2 miles
between Cornerwood and Wyoming Springs drives in Round Rock.
January 2013–
late fall 2014
Williamson County is adding dual right-turn lanes from Lakeline Boulevard to the
southbound frontage road for US 183. Lane closures are expected from 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
Summer–late fall 2014
Designers are drawing plans for TxDOT’s East Whitestone Boulevard gap project to
widen Whitestone to a six-lane road between Market Street and Cottonwood Creek Trail.

The city of Cedar Park is nearing the end of
its second phase of sidewalk improvements.
The city has A added a sidewalk section
in front of The Railyard and The Depot
shopping centers on East Whitestone
Boulevard, and B added a sidewalk
beside a Treeline Drive detention pond.

Discovery Boulevard railroad crossing.

11 Toll 183A/US 183 intersection
The Mobility Authority plans to rebuild the
intersection of Toll 183A and US 183 in
Leander, including new streets, a turnaround
and a new route for the southbound access
road that connects US 183 to CR 276. The
Mobility Authority will also add sidewalks,
signs and stoplights. Workers will close some
lanes during the project.

12 Municipal Drive
Leander ISD and the city of Leander will widen
all of Municipal Drive and extend the road
between Bagdad Road and South West
Drive while construction begins on Leander
ISD’s new Camacho Elementary School.
The road project includes improvements to
drainage and is expected to cause delays at
the intersection of Municipal and South West
during peak traffic hours.

13 Old FM 2243 widening
The city of Leander has budgeted its portion
of a project to expand Old FM 2243 to four
lanes between US 183 and the extended
Lakeline Boulevard. Workers would also add
turn lanes for businesses and cross streets,
and relocate utility lines and sidewalks.
