Answers to October’s Question – How do
you share your 10th Step?
th
Let’s start with what the 10 Step Says
Continued to take personal inventory and
when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
Step Ten is one of those continuing steps – definitely not a
one stop step. Don’t panic, it is a good thing because
before program, one of the main reasons I beat myself up
was for making mistakes. I didn’t allow myself to make
mistakes, which is a shame because we learn a lot through
mistakes. Well I learn if I reflect on them rather than cover
them up or just pretend “I saw nothing”.
Ok – it’s not like I go around trying to make mistakes– it’s
just that I have learned to forgive myself (new concept). I’ve
found I make the same mistake less than I used to before I
forgave myself. As if by not giving myself permission to
forgive, I doomed myself to the cycle of repeat.
th
In the beginning I had to review my 10 step with my
th
sponsor – like a mini 5 step. As I gained courage in the
program and started to believe other people might be ok – I
th
started to share my 10 step with the person it impacts.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised to find that most people work
better with you in the long run if you share your mistakes.
And get out, if you set the pattern they just might share their
mistakes (remember to forgive them too).

Feedback on 12th Step Within
Committee
th
How lucky we are to have an active 12 Step Within
Committee that plans multiple workshops throughout the
year. The topics are always relevant to recovery. This is a
Thank You shout out to the 12 Step Within Committee –
you really are a fabulous team.
And below is a testimonial – if you have one to share shoot
it over [email protected] – love to share positive
news.
I have been to a few of these events and they are always
really good.
#1 there is going to be some "old-timers" there and that is a
wealth of knowledge in and of itself, no matter what the
subject.
#2 you meet people that you don't see at your regular
meetings and that is always good for your recovery
#3 the speakers are awesome and show how broad OA is,
for example I attended the Prayer and Meditation workshop
on 7/26. One of the speakers was agnostic and one was a
traditional Christian type believer....the beautiful thing is
how much that doesn't matter in our program. Both
speakers told about how they meditate and pray and
connect to HP...it was just awesome! Stephanie P
th
I also want to mention my 10 Step isn’t all about mistakes.
I have some victories too – or people surprise me. For
instance sometime someone proves me wrong – which is
ironic because I don’t think I’m judgmental anymore. I take
the time to tell that person I’m pleasantly surprised and I
like what they did. I skip the part about how I thought they
were you know – a loser – and I don’t go to the blame
myself for falling into bad habits like judging.
It’s actually quite amazing how many things I do in my daily
life because I was introduced to them in program and found
they work. Some of the things I dreaded most,
procrastinated against – once I did it – I saw it wasn’t that
bad and it would get easier with practice. It also gets easier
if you don’t let the stuff pile up. So I guess my main point is
th
it doesn’t matter how you do a 10 Step – just do it often.
PS – don’t give up if at first you don’t succeed – might take
th
a few types of 10 steps before you find the one that fits
you. I have friends that give theirs at confession, give them
to someone else in program, write them down – doesn’t
matter how – no wrong way!
Please share on any committee you participate on – if you
can make the Budget Committee sound fun – there will be
a special prize.
Don’t help on a committee –elections for Trusted Servants
is this December Intergroup – but you don’t have to wait –
you can call any Chair – they will be happy for the help &
you will be better for the service!
I’m truly thankful when people share with the Reach Out

November’s Questions
What questions do you have that you want other fellows to
answer?
I will print all the questions and then in following editions
print the feedback from the fellowship.
Meeting Schedule
The meeting schedule is as updated as information is
received – however it is only published monthly – so
sometimes the information is outdated.
We had a few instances where Newcomer’s came and the
meeting was cancelled. There wasn’t a sign – they had to
figure out no one was coming.
Please be extra communicative if a meeting is cancelled –
the more people that know the better – and always
communicate it at the meetings you go to – better to over
say it, than say nothing at all. And please if it was a
meeting at the OAsis post it on the door – because if the
OAsis is closed that’s the only way someone would see.
It’s always best to call the meeting contact person before
attending a new meeting – better sure than sorry.
Appreciate everyone’s help in spreading the word.
Meeting directory is maintained by [email protected] please
send all updates there.
