Dell Wyse Client VESA Mounting Bracket for Dell P Series Monitor Installation Instructions This VESA mounting bracket (P bracket) is used for mounting a Wyse client to the Dell P Series Monitor or the Dell E24 Monitor. A #1 Phillips-head screwdriver is required. NOTE: The mounting bracket can be used with the monitor in either landscape or portrait orientation. Before you install the client, first determine your preferred display orientation. Wyse Clients Using this Bracket Wyse clients, Dx0D, Dx0Q, N03D, PxN, Tx0, and Tx0D, may use the Dell Wyse Client VESA Mounting Bracket (P bracket) for Dell P Series and E2414 Monitors. Table 1 Wyse Clients by Regulatory Model Number and Product Name Dx0D Dx0Q N03D PxN Tx0 Tx0D 5000-D00DX (Xenith Pro 2) 5400-D00Q 3290 5020-P25 3000-T00X (Xenith 2) 3002-T00DX (Xenith 3) 5200-D00D 5490-D90Q7 3010-T10 3012-T10D 5212-D10D 5490-D90Q7P 3050-T50 5212-D10DP 5490-D90Q8 5250-D50D 5290-D90D7 5290-D90D7P 5290-D90D8 2 Shown below are Dx0D and Tx0 on monitors operating in portrait and landscape orientations. CAUTION: Mount the client only as shown. Improper placement (where the back panel or front panel is facing down, or where the vents are facing in towards the monitor) could restrict the airflow of heat from the device and damage it. For portrait orientation, ensure that the client power button always faces right. CAUTION: Do not enclose the client in a confined environment without proper ventilation. Included in the Kit (PN 920397-01L) Parts provided in the kit include: (1) P bracket, (1) power adaptor holder, (1) stopper, (1) M2.5 screw, (4) M4 screws and (4) hex nuts. NOTE for N03D: You need to purchase separately the client horizontal stand/VESA bracket with the ‘hex’ holes. For N03D, use PN 920372-01L. NOTE for PxN, Tx0, and Tx0D: You need to purchase separately (or have received with your client) the client horizontal stand/VESA bracket with the ‘hex’ holes. For Tx0, use PN 920334-01L. For PxN and Tx0D, use PN 920334-11L. 3 What Goes Where on the P Bracket Mounting Dx0D and Dx0Q Clients Use the following instructions to mount the Dx0D and Dx0Q client to the P bracket. 1. Preparing the Client - Remove the client from its existing stand. If not already removed, use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the four (4) filler screws from the side of the client and discard them. 2. Attaching the Client - Select your preferred display orientation, see note below. Install the client on the P bracket (the side with the release button). The client shown below has been installed for landscape orientation. Use the provided four (4) M4 screws to attach it to the bracket. For Dx0D and Dx0Q, use the VESA hole set starting with the outer edge screws holes. NOTE: When installing for a monitor in landscape orientation, the client power button should be facing to the right. When installing for a monitor in portrait orientation, the power button should be facing down (after rotation, the power button will be facing to the right). 4 3. Attaching the Power Adaptor Holder - Install the power adaptor holder on the P bracket (the side with the release button). Slide the small hooks downward into the vertical slotted holes and the large hooks onto the top edge of the bracket. Use the M2.5 screw provided to secure the ‘holder’ on the bracket where indicated. 4. Attaching P Bracket to the Monitor - Place the monitor on a padded surface with the display facing down. Remove the stand from the monitor by pushing the monitor’s quick release button. Remove the four (4) VESA screws from the back of the monitor and set them aside. Position the P bracket's central section on the back of the monitor. Slide the bracket’s top tabs into the dedicated tab slots, and then firmly push down bottom edge of bracket until it snaps in place. For additional security, reinstall the monitor VESA screws that you had set aside (do not over-tighten). CAUTION: If you need to remove the P bracket, remove monitor screws and then press the lower quick release button on the monitor, not the upper release button on the bracket. 5 5. Reinstalling the Monitor Stand - Insert the upper stand tabs into the dedicated space on the P bracket and press down until the quick release button latches in. Place the monitor in the upright standing position. 6. Adjusting and Securing Monitor Height For landscape orientation - Adjust the monitor height and attach stopper. Make sure that the stopper tab is facing up on the front side of the stand, and then snap the stopper ends together. For portrait orientation - Raise the monitor to ‘maximum’ height and attach stopper. Make sure that the stopper tab is facing up on the front side of the stand, and then snap the stopper ends together. Rotate the monitor. NOTE: The purpose of the stopper is to support the extra weight of the client and bracket. NOTE: If mounting the P bracket on the E2414 Monitor, the stopper does not need to be used. 7. Finishing - Make all desired connections, and then connect the power adapter’s AC power cable to an electrical outlet. CAUTION: Do not enclose the client in a confined environment without proper ventilation. 6 Mounting N03D, PxN, Tx0, and Tx0D Clients Use the following instructions to mount the N03D, PxN, Tx0 and Tx0D client to the P bracket. 1. Preparing the Client and VESA Bracket - Remove the client from its plastic horizontal stand/VESA bracket. On the ‘inside’ of the plastic bracket, slip one of the four (4) provided nuts into a screw hex hole. Tip: Use your finger to slide the nut across the plastic bracket surface so that it easily slips into the recessed cutout. Important: You need to have the plastic bracket with the hex holes. For N03D, use PN 920372-01L. For Tx0, use PN 920334-01L. For PxN and Tx0D, use PN 920334-11L. (No hex holes? Contact a Dell sales representative to purchase the correct bracket for installation.) 2. Attaching the Client VESA Bracket - Select your preferred display orientation, see note below. The plastic bracket shown below has been positioned for landscape orientation (for portrait orientation, the plastic bracket must be rotated to the right before attaching). Align the screw holes on the plastic bracket (containing the four hex nuts) with the corresponding holes on client side of the metal P bracket (the side with the release button) in your preferred display orientation. For N03D, PxN, Tx0 and Tx0D, use the VESA hole set starting with the inner edge screw holes. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver attach the provided four (4) M4 screws through the metal bracket, then through the plastic bracket and into the nut (do not over-tighten). NOTE: When installing for a monitor in landscape orientation, the client power button should be facing to the right. When installing for a monitor in portrait orientation, the plastic bracket must be attached facing down so that when rotated, the client power button will also be facing to the right. 7 3. Installing the Client for Landscape Orientation - The N03D, PxN, Tx0, or Tx0D client may now be inserted into the plastic bracket for landscape orientation. Tip: For portrait orientation, it is best to install the client as the last step. 4. Attaching the Power Adaptor Holder - Install the power adaptor holder on the P bracket (the side with the release button). Slide the small hooks downward into the vertical slotted holes and the large hooks onto the top edge of the bracket. Use the M2.5 screw provided to secure the ‘holder’ on the bracket. 5. Attaching P Bracket to the Monitor - Place the monitor on a padded surface with the display facing down. Remove the stand from the monitor by pushing the quick release button. Remove the four (4) VESA screws from the back of the monitor and set them aside. Position the P bracket's central section on the back of the monitor. Slide the bracket’s top tabs into the dedicated tab slots, and then firmly push down bottom edge of bracket until it snaps in place. For additional security, re-install the monitor VESA screws that you had set aside (do not over-tighten). CAUTION: If you need to remove the P bracket, remove monitor screws and then press the lower quick release button on the monitor, not the upper release button on the bracket. 6. Re-installing the Monitor Stand - Insert the upper stand tabs into dedicated space on the P bracket and press down until the quick release button latches in. Place the monitor in the upright standing position. 7. NOTE: The purpose of the stopper is to support the extra weight of the client and P bracket. NOTE: If mounting the P bracket on the E2414 Monitor, the stopper does not need to be used. 8. Installing the Client for Portrait Orientation - The N03D, PxN, Tx0, or Tx0D client may now be inserted into the plastic bracket for portrait orientation. Make sure that the power button faces towards the top right. 9. Finishing- Make all desired connections, and then connect the power adapter’s AC power cable to an electrical outlet. CAUTION: Do not enclose the client in a confined environment without proper ventilation. 883964-01 Rev. C November 2014 ©2014 Dell Inc. All Rights Reserved.
