TRANSPORT
Note: Depending on your departure point, the best travel option might be either (a) to fly to Naples or (b) to fly
to Rome and from there take a train to Naples. In the latter case:
From Rome Fiumicino Airport, take the Leonardo Express direct train to Rome Central Station
(Stazione Termini); travel time: 32'; trains every 30' from 06:37-23:37.
From Stazione Termini take a train to Naples Central Station (Napoli Centrale); shortest travel time
(Frecciarossa trains): 1:10; frequent trains.

If you arrive in Naples by plane the easiest way to reach the Hotels and/or the Stazione Zoologica from the
Naples-Capodichino airport is to take a taxi or bus. They are both just outside the arrival terminal of the airport.
Taxi: It is important to ask the taxi driver for the "predetermined taxi fare" for the Hotels in Chiaia (see list
of fares appended to the present document). This predetermined fare amounts to € 23.00 (you do not have
to pay any extra for luggage or number of persons). The transfer should take about 25-30 minutes, but this
may vary depending on traffic. Please ask to the taxi driver for the "Acquario in Villa Comunale" (in fact, the
Stazione Zoologica is well known under this name, for its aquarium).
Bus: If you prefer to take the bus you should go to the ANM Alibus bus stop just outside the Arrival
Terminal. Take the "Alibus" bus (which leaves every 30 minutes from 06:30 am up to midnight) and get
down at the terminal Piazza Municipio. The ticket costs € 4.00 and it is possible to buy it directly on the bus
from the driver.
From the bus stop in Piazza Municipio you can take another bus "140" and get off in Piazza San Pasquale,
where SZN is located (inside the Villa Comunale). The ticket for urban buses costs € 1.20, but you have to
buy it before taking the bus at a newspaper kiosk or at a tobacco shop. The travel should be about 60
minutes much depending on traffic.
Otherwise you can get off the “Alibus” in Piazza Garibaldi and take the metro. The metro station is under
the railway station. Buy tickets at € 1.20 at newspaper kiosks in the railway station. Take the metro line
direction Pozzuoli and get off at Piazza Amedeo (3rd stop). The Stazione Zoologica is situated in the Villa
Comunale, within walking distance of the metro station (see map).
If you arrive in Naples by train, the Central Railway Station is in the centre of the city. Both domestic and
international trains reach Naples Station. The easiest way to reach the Stazione Zoologica is to take the Metro
(which is inside the Central Railway Station in Piazza Garibaldi) and get off at the Piazza Amedeo Station. SZN is
within walking distance (10 minutes) of the metro station (see map).
