BoxOffice is now available in Zimbabwe
DStv is excited to introduce BoxOffice, your very own movie rental service available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week!
Renting a movie on BoxOffice is as easy as sitting back and pressing a button on your DStv Explora remote. That’s it.
Glorious HD movies, delivered right to your DStv Explora or HD PVR in an instant.
However, you need to be on the following DStv bouquets; Compact, Compact Plus and Premium HD and own an Explora
or any other HD PVR decoder. You then have to register for BoxOffice using the following steps;
Log on to internet from your mobile phone or laptop
Type in the link - http://bo.dstv.com
BoxOffice screen comes up
Two options appear: Registration and Rental
For registration enter the first 10 digits your smartcard number
Then enter your cell number including the country code i.e. 263....
Then Submit
You should receive a confirmation SMS stating that you have been successfully registered and can proceed to
enjoy the first movie on the house
OR
Simply SMS your first 10 digits of your smart card number via SMS to short code number 32288.
Then follow the steps below to rent a movie;
Using WAP
On Explora or HD PVR under BoxOffice, select option - Rental (On the Explora remote press the green button)
All the movies available will be displayed on the screen
Select a movie and then press OK
Option Rent now and view trailer will come up
Select Rent now
Press OK on terms and condition
Select box office account - 18 digit rental code will appear on screen
Using http://bo.dstv.com on the phone or computer go to rental and enter the 18 digit code.
Key in your cell number starting with 263.... (type in the number without 00 or +)
Click on submit
Wait until you receive an SMS on your phone confirming that your box movie has been rented successfully
Soon after a banner will also appear on your TV with the text: The movie you have rented is now available for
viewing: WATCH NOW or WATCH LATER
Press OK to watch now
Note that, even if you press OK on watch later the movie has already been rented and will be available for the
next 48 hours only
OR
Send the 18 digit rental code on your screen to via SMS to short code number 32288.
Rental cost is $2.50 per movie. Payments can be made via banks accepting DStv payments, Ecocash or telecash.
