LET US BE AS CHRIST TO
ONE ANOTHER
Imagine how Mary felt at the birth
of JESUS: excited, awed,
frightened. Deep faith was her
light in the darkness, for JESUS
was born during the night of the
year when darkness is the
longest. In faith is found the real,
lasting, and deep joy of
Christmas.
Please remember to support the
Society of Saint Vincent de Paul
in the coming year so that
together we can continue to bring
comfort and peace to our
brothers and sisters who are
suffering.
Our time for renewal of body and
spirit for all members is
December 19/2014 to January
5/2015. Thank- for all that you
have done.
We extend an invitation to
anyone who would like to ride
along with our truck team who
deliver items on Wednesdays to
those who are in need Please,
be open to giving this a chance.

you fit. If interested call Jeff

SYMBOLON
We are excited to announce that our parish has become a partner in a dynamic faith formation
program called SYMBOLON. This program is designed to help our parish form adults in the
Catholic faith, and can be used at home.
WHAT IS SYMBOLON?
Symbolon is an immersion in the faith for the whole parish. It aims at transforming adults on all
levels—how we think, how we pray, and how we live—by immersing us in instruction about the
Word of God and the Catholic Faith. This program contains guides for leaders and for participants,
as well as engaging video content aimed at teaching us more about our Catholic faith.
The 20 episodes in this program will take you through the entire story of the Catholic faith and
includes topics such as Sacred Scripture, Salvation History, Jesus, the Church, Mary & the Saints,
the Sacraments (including Reconciliation & the Eucharist), Catholic Morality, God’s Plan for
Human Sexuality, and Catholic Social Teaching.
HOW CAN I USE IT?
As a member of our parish, you can access Symbolon on the web, using your computer,
smartphone or tablet. We encourage every parishioner to take advantage of this excellent
resource and make it a priority to learn more about our faith so that we can not only live it out
more deeply, but also share it with others.

The Road to Discipleship Let it be with me
Only Matthew and Luke’s Gospels speak of Jesus’ birth. Luke’s Gospel centers on Mary’s response. Both
accounts agree that an angel delivers the message, that Mary is pregnant, and there is no human father.
Mary was puzzled about the angel’s news. As a virgin, how could she be expecting a baby? Betrothed to
Joseph but not married, in Mary’s society an unwed pregnancy meant disgrace. How great her trust in God
that she could say so easily, “Let it be with me according to your word.” Can we say ’yes’ to everything we
experience on our faith journeys—trusting God through all circumstances, both scary and inspiring?
Drop down dew from above, you heavens, and let the clouds
rain down the Just One; let the earth be opened and bring forth
a Saviour. Isaiah 45.8
