ISGCON 2014
Welcome
Message
Welcome to Mumbai!
Dear friends,
The ISGCON 2014 has finally arrived and we are eagerly waiting to welcome you all to Mumbai.
The members of the local organizing committee along with the executive councils of the ISG, SGEI, and
INASL have strived hard to prepare for you a power packed academic and social program.
On the first day i.e. 19th of December, during our CME program, you will witness 25 crisp lectures on
the ‘Appropriate use of technology in Gastroenterology’ delivered by a galaxy of National and
International experts. This will be held in one hall (Combination of Hall A, B & C). On the same day, in
the evening we will have the Inauguration function.
On the 2nd and 3rd days i.e. 20th and 21st of December, the ISG has planned for you a very interesting
and comprehensive program on Gastroenterology which will be held in three simultaneous Halls (A, B &
C). For the plenary session and the presidential oration all the three Halls will be combined.
On the 4th day, the SGEI and INASL will have their scientific programs in two halls (A & B). They too
have put up a program which will apprise you of what is latest in GI endoscopy and Hepatology.
On the evenings of all the days, we have arranged for you eight focused symposia supported by the
Industry on very interesting topics. These will be held after the main congress program is over and
before the Gala dinners.
On all the congress days, Boston Scientific India and Olympus India have kept ‘Hands-On’ training
sessions at their learning centers where the participants can practice various procedures like Stent
placement, clipping, EMR, ESD and POEM.
CeFET (Center of excellence for flexible endoscopy training) which is a subsidiary of CeMAST has also
organized ‘Hands-On’ training sessions for the surgeons attending the ISGCON. Here, the surgeons or
those beginning to do endoscopy can practice basic gastroscopy and colonoscopy procedures on the
latest GI endoscopy simulator.
Needless to say, our evenings will be full of fun and frolic where you will get to meet and see some of
your favorite celebrities from the big and small screen. We personally request you not to miss the
entertainment program (Comedy Nights with Kapil) on Sunday night i.e. 21st night. This will be a
doctors’ special show and will be telecast on Colors TV. On the 22nd night i.e. Monday night we have
planned a scintillating Marathi Cultural Show (Marathi Bana) with 150 artists on the stage.
We are all truly excited to receive you all in Mumbai and sincerely hope that you will really enjoy this
congress as much as we have enjoyed in organizing it for you.
We are sure you are going to have an academic and social feast!!
