Eagle View Happenings! 2015-16 KINDERGARTEN Identifying new incoming Kindergarten students is a very important part of our planning process. If you, or someone you know, has a child that will be five years old on or before August 31, 2015, please contact Janelle Sasse at the District Office at 952-758-1703 for enrollment information and registration forms. For new Kindergarten families not residing in the NPAS District and who have not previously completed open enrollment forms for their child, the Open Enrollment Application must be received by the District Office in order for your child to be enrolled in a New Prague Area School. Once a child is enrolled in a non-resident district, the student may remain enrolled and is not required to submit annual or periodic applications. Forms for open enrollment can be found on the district website under the pull-down menu labeled Enrollments. Select ‘Open Enrollment’ and print and complete the first two pages of the form. The State of Minnesota recommends a January 15 deadline. However, agreements between Minnesota school districts now allow families to apply for Open Enrollment at any time during the year. NPAS would appreciate families applying for Open Enrollment to adhere to the January 15 deadline. Applications should be dropped off at school or mailed to: New Prague Area Schools District Office / ATTN: Janelle Sasse 410 Central Ave N New Prague, MN 56071 EAGLE VIEW ALL-SCHOOL PANORAMIC PICTURE There are extra Eagle View All-School Panoramic Pictures for sale in the office at a cost of $18. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! Health Services How To Get Over Strep Throat Quickly Suddenly you are not feeling well. It hurts to swallow and your throat is bright red with white spots, the glands in your neck are sore, you have a headache and a fever has developed. Follow these steps to quickly recover from the nasty streptococcal bacteria. Go to the doctor. Strep throat is a bacterial infection, which means you could be prescribed antibiotics. Children may return to school after being on antibiotics for 24 hours. Try to get as much sleep as possible. Gargle with salt water several times a day. Drink a lot of liquids. Mostly water, 100% fruit juices, chicken broth, hot tea and popsicles. Wash your hands with soap and water often and keep hand sanitizer handy. Use humidifiers to provide relief by adding moisture to the air. Try over-the-counter pain relief medications such as acetaminophen. Monitor your situation. Most people find their symptoms are gone after a few days. If you do not feel better after 5 days of treatment, see your doctor. Enjoy a new year of healthy possibilities!
