Company Registration Guide
Registration
Thank you for your interest in attended our fair and in recruiting Krannert students! Online registration
for the SMEF Spring Career Fair will open on November 19th. SMEF uses the NACElink @ Purdue (CCO) system
for our registration. With an account you can register for the fair, update your registration if necessary, view
your invoice and post job opportunities for Purdue students. Your registration will be reviewed by SMEF and
you’ll receive a confirmation email after it has been confirmed.
The registration form includes fields to specify the qualifications of desired students, including major,
class standing, citizenship, and other qualifications. Please make sure that this information is accurate as
students research the information when preparing for the fair. In addition, you will be given the opportunity to
sign up for the following optional career fair week events: Resume Critiques, Company Information Sessions,
Networking Event and Interviews.
Companies are placed in the ballroom and lounges according to when they registered for the fair, with
early registrations receiving better placements. Therefore we recommend registering early, as the date of
registration can impact fair placement.

Career Fair Week Events
Resume Critiques
Resume critiques are a great way for students to gain insight as to what you look for in a resume, as
well as an opportunity for you to have more one-on-one contact with students. If requested, you’ll
receive your resume critique time and location 3 weeks before the fair.
Networking Event
The networking event is an opportunity for company representatives to mingle with students the
evening before the career fair in a less hectic environment than that of the fair. Food will be provided
to all, and recruiters are able to discuss job opportunities in detail, and answer any questions students
may have about their company and positions available.
Student Organization
Reverse Career Fair
Do you want to meet Krannert Student Leaders? Before the career fair begins we are hosting a
student organization reverse career fair. Krannert student organization leaders will be available to talk
about their organization, how you can build a relationship and support their activities. It is our hope
that this information will allow you to recruit the exact Krannert students that you are looking for.
Company Presentations
Company presentations are either held from 12:30-5:30 on the Wednesday before the fair as well as 6-8
PM on Thursday, the day of the fair. They provide students with additional information about your company and
give students an opportunity to ask any questions they may have about your company. If requested, you’ll
receive your presentation time and location 3 weeks before the fair.
Interviews
If you are interested in interviewing students after the fair you can request tables (4 max) on your
registration. Interviews tables will be available in the Stewart Center from 8-5. If you request interviews your
room assignment and an interview schedule sheet(s) will be delivered to you when you arrive the day of the fair.
Contact Erik Props ([email protected]) if you prefer to create a partial pre-select schedule.

Parking Information
The SMEF committee has arranged your parking to be at the Grant Street Parking Garage (PGG – see map
below). It is located right across the street from the Purdue Memorial Union (PMU). Your parking pass (1 per
company) will be in the black folder on your table. The folder has a lot of information about our majors and
programs. *If you are staying at the PMU Hotel, they will validate your parking.
For mapping services you can use the following address: 120 N. Grant Street, West Lafayette, Indiana
Purdue Tunnels: Avoid the Elements
Purdue has a fantastic underground tunnel system that is available for your convenience in the case of rain /
poor weather conditions. To enter the tunnel between the Grant Street Parking Garage and PMU, go to the
basement floor and follow the signs pointing you in the direction of the Union. This will take you to the
basement floor of the Union. Go up 2 floors to the main level to get to the fair. If you have heavy packages take
the ramp which is located to the right before you get to the steps. At the top of the ramp take the elevator to
the Ballroom level. The tunnels also connect to Krannert and Rawls in the case you need to go to these buildings.
Refer to this map for parking, fair event locations and tunnels (gold lines between buildings)

Tips for Recruiting Krannert Students
Job Postings
Posting your job opportunities on the CCO website (the same website we use for our career fair registration)
should be considered an essential part of the recruiting at Purdue. The CCO is Purdue’s main career resource
and it’s a great way to put opportunities at students’ fingertips. Posting on the CCO increases your branding,
visibility and increases your potential candidate pool. Do you prefer they apply on your website? No problem,
include a statement that interested students should apply online and add your corporate link. Your registration
confirmation email will include an attachment with information about the options for posting positions.
Resume Books & Custom Resume Searches
Registering for our fair gives you have access (January 26th – February 27th) to search and contact students using
our Business Related Majors (full-time or interns) resume books. Use the search features to target your search.
You can view resumes, email top candidates, export to Excel or generate a resume book. It is a great tool to
target students before the fair. Invite them to stop by the fair, attend your presentation or view your job
postings. * we recommend limiting your email to students that are more likely to meet your criteria.
To access the books, login to your NACElink@Purdue account and click the “Resume Books” tab. Resumes
included in resume books are set to the students’ default resume. If you prefer a pdf resume book or you want
to include other non-business majors you can request a customized resume search on the CCO website.

Hiring International Students
Purdue Pathway Program - To assist international students in their job search by providing an H-1B visa
application processing service to prospective employers through a Purdue partnership with the law firm Quarles
& Brady. Q&B processes hundreds of applications annually, which enables streamlining and optimal efficiency.
The program does not guarantee sponsorship or employment, but it facilitates the hiring process where prior
obstacles may have existed. For more information, contact Claudine Meilink ([email protected]).
Do you have Global Operations? If your organization has home country opportunities for students please let us
know how they apply or how Krannert’s can connect and our career office will work with them. Send any
international recruiting information or contacts to Erik Props ([email protected]).
On Campus Interviews – contact the CCO (765.494.3981) if you need to setup an on-campus interview
schedule for any time beginning the week after the career fair.
Student Organizations
Connecting with and supporting our student organizations is a great way to connect with future leaders. Stop by
the Student Organization Reverse Career Fair or contact the organization president. We will email an updated
list of our clubs and contact information in January. You can invite them to visit you at the fair, attend your
presentation, apply to your posting(s) or plan future events. We also include the most recent activity report so
you have an idea what each club does. Here is information about an event our WIB chapter is hosting in March.
“Women in Business Conference: Please join us for our 6th annual Women in Business (WIB)
Conference on Saturday, March 7th. This daylong event includes keynote speakers, networking, and
panel discussions. This year the focus is on empowerment and confidence of women in the business
world. For additional information and sponsorship options visit our website:

Classroom Engagement
Mgmt 301 – Employer Mock Interview Program *
MGMT 301 brings “professional education to life” through experiential opportunities. Mock Interviews engage
students with professionals in a learning environment to practice and enhance skills studied in the classroom.
MGMT 301: Alumni “Adopt a Team” Program *
Krannert’s MGMT 301: “Professional Career Management” course works to increase the competency of
students in the “networking” and “informational interviewing” skill areas. Through the “Alumni ‘Adopt a Team’
Program” student class teams and alumni interact virtually in two informational interview sessions.

Update Your Company Profile on NACElink @ Purdue University
Your company profile should include your logo and information that is fairly consistent. Your profile will be
visible to all Purdue students and alumni, throughout the year, anytime they view your job postings or research
your company. Click the “Update your Employer Profile” link under the shortcuts menu to edit your profile.
