The International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), is quite simply one of the world’s
leading joint defence exhibitions, and certainly the largest in the Middle East and Africa.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of
the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, IDEX is widely recognised as the
foremost showcase for the very latest technology, insight and innovation that currently defines
the modern defence industry.
This is in large part due to the introduction of NAVDEX in 2011 - the region’s largest naval
defence and maritime security exhibition but also as a result of the unwavering support and
enthusiasm received by its exhibitors and visitors year after year.

In 2015, attention from the world’s defence and security industry will be in Abu Dhabi as it stages the 12th edition of the
International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX).
With the prestigious honour, IDEX 2015 continues to be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
IDEX 2015 will be organised by IDEX LLC ( an ADNEC Group Company) in association with the UAE Armed Forces GHQ and
will take place between 22 - 26 February, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) , United Arab Emirates.

In August 2005, His Highness, Sheikh Khalifa Bin
Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab
Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, issues a Royal
Decree to establish ADNEC – Abu Dhabi National
Exhibitions Company.

The President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan officially opens the new Exhibition
Centre. ADNEC begins canal dredging to a depth of 6m to allow Naval ships to exhibit for IDEX 2009.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
Vice-President and Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, officially launched IDEX 2013.
The opening ceremony was watched by 5,000 VIPs and international delegations from 82 countries.

Covering an area of 32,000m², live demonstrations at IDEX and NAVDEX are a dedicated platform for industry to showcase

IDEX - NAVDEX DEFENCE SUMMIT 2015
Supported by the UAE Armed Forces, INDS is a three day event which will gather senior government and military officials from
across the service branches as well as senior industry executives from across the world to discuss the emerging trends in
defence and technology.
As an integral part of IDEX 2015, INDS will represent one of the most important international gatherings of the defence and
security community in the GCC, aiming to attract more than 1000 senior defence executives.

NAVDEX offers daily keynote sessions by high-ranking international naval officers. Last year the sessions welcomed the UAE
Navy Commander, Royal Navy (UK) Fleet Commander, US Navy 5th Fleet Commander and the UAE CICPA Commander.
The sessions are open to exhibitors and visitors and address the latest developments and trends in international naval

IDEX takes place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), which is centrally located in Abu Dhabi, the capital
