Dear Parents, January always seems to be an interrupted time for instruction. The days are short, and the time for teaching seems also to be shortened. The Winter Advisory closes on January 9th, and all teachers will post a set of grades that week. I would remind you that the Advisory grade is just that, a snapshot of how your son has done in the relatively few class days that we have had since the close of the Fall Trimester. 1. Online:
Go to www.jostensyearbook.com and follow the instructions for
ordering a Seton Hall Prep yearbook. Personalize it, order accessories, and
pay with your credit card.
2. In
School: Order using the Jostens Envelope – one was placed in your
son’s portrait package or pick one up in the College Placement Office.
Return the completed form with a check payable to “Seton Hall Prep” to
Mrs. Sgaramella’s mailbox in the main office. Note: with this option, you
may only personalize with your son’s name/graduation year – you may not
add icons to the front cover or order accessories using the envelope.
Cost: $80 before 1/16/15 and $100 after 1/16/15.
(No orders will be taken after 1/24/15)
These prices include one line of free personalization (student’s name and
graduation year). Icons and accessory packages will be extra.
If you wish to have a yearbook, you must order one – we will
not have books at the end of the year for purchase.

I hope you enjoyed the holiday season. On Thursday, February 19th at 7:00 pm, The College
Placement Office will be hosting College Information Night for Juniors in the Prep Auditorium.
This is a very important meeting for parents/guardians and students to attend.
The event itinerary will recap and build on the items covered in the College Planning Kick-Off
we hosted in September. Families will be given instruction on how to maximize the winter,
spring and summer months in terms of college planning. Another exciting portion of the event
will be an interactive college admissions panel. The panel will include admissions
representatives from a mix of prestigious colleges. The representatives will provide valuable
personal insight on the college application process.
If you were not able to attend the College Planning Kick-Off in September, you may access the
presentation and items covered on the Seton Hall Prep College Placement website.

SUBJECT: Mothers Auxiliary January 2015 Newsletter

Happy New Year! The Mothers Auxiliary had a stellar year thanks to all of your sacrifices and no doubt 2015 promises more good things for us. Many thanks to our Christmas Social chairpersons Sue Kominiak and Lisa Yarosz and their joyous committee for hosting a fun‐filled evening complete with plenty of spirit and an ornament exchange. The Mothers Auxiliary proudly presented Monsignor Kelly and Monsignor Harahan with our December donation to SHP of $110,000 and we also collected $1,142 for a needy Prep Family from our raffle baskets auctioned off that night. Almost everyone went home with something nice as the committee had many door prizes of Christmas cakes. Music filled the air as well as plenty of good will. The Mothers Auxiliary Prep Store and SHP's Bookstore were open and busy with ladies doing their Christmas shopping. ►Next Mothers Auxiliary Meeting ‐ January 6, 2015 at 7:00 pm for Social; 7:30 pm Call to Order Michael Hegedus, International Students Program Advisor, along with Mrs. Liz McMahon and Mrs. Shari Belgrave‐Rudder who are host families, will present on this wonderful opportunity at The Prep. Julia Carey, [email protected], will be offering Custom 2015 SHP Graduate Lawn Signs for $20. Please join us to enthusiastically kick‐off 2015! ►SHP Candidates Day, Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 1:00‐3:00 pm ‐ A great opportunity to meet potential incoming freshmen and their parents. Thanks in advance to our Hospitality Team for welcoming these fine families. ►Lenten Mass & Soup Supper, Ash Wednesday, February 18, 2015 ‐ Please plan to attend this very special evening on Ash Wednesday. Monsignor Kelly and Monsignor Harahan will celebrate Mass in the SHP Auditorium at 7:00 pm, where ashes will be distributed. Our Soup Supper will immediately follow in the Dining Hall. Volunteers to make meatless soups are kindly needed.
