Lisa Swanick said she believes the Buddy Day provides a valuable performance opportunity that
allows the elementary
school students in our
sending districts to see
what our music program
has to offer. “The success
of this event is a testament to the value that the
send school districts and
West Essex place on music
education.”
West Essex High
School has installed
two new environmentally friendly water
fountains/coolers near
the auditorium. The new
fountains are a big hit
with students and faculty.

Memory Portraits Completed
Members of the WEHS Chapter of the National Art Honor Society created portraits of neglected children in India, now on display in the
high school hallway. The society is participating in the Memory Project, which connects artists to less fortunate children. West Essex
students were assigned children living in India. Each of the 46 society
members created a portrait which will be personally delivered to the
child, along with a photo of the student artist. The society will hold
fundraisers to cover the costs of delivery of the portraits.
