Board members are going to be available in the high school cafeteria during conferences, for parents to visit with if they have questions or concerns they want to discuss. Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015: Donnie Gabehart and Scott Wills – 11 AM – 1 PM Angie Castillo and Mark Pierson - 6 PM – 8 PM Attention MS & HS Students: The Air Academy Federal Credit Union Art Contest will be judged on February 12th. All students may participate- you don’t have to be an art student. See Mrs. Naber if you are interested in participating and pick up a permission form. Art work is due to Mrs. Naber by 4p.m. January 29th. Are there any parents out there willing to provide a breakfast item for the upcoming High School Honor Roll Breakfast? Mrs. Smith is seeking donations of breakfast items to help feed those students and their parents on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Please contact Lorinda Gale, Honor Roll Breakfast coordinator at 303-867-8424 and leave a message on our voice mail. KPTCC is asking for parents to step forward and help us provide a nourishing meal for our teachers and staff during upcoming Parent Teacher Conferences on Thursday, February 12, 2015. We will be serving a selection of Mexican entrees. If you are able to help by providing an item for their meal, please contact Carrie McElroy at 303-867-8424 and leave a message on our voice mail. Set-up and clean-up help would also be appreciated. All items need to be at school by 3:00 pm so that we may start serving at 4:00 pm. KPTCC Basketball Concessions are up and running and Kiowa is known throughout the Black Forest League for our outstanding concessions. We are always in need of home baked desserts and concessions volunteers. We only have 5 games left and multiple openings in our schedule. We simply cannot do this all on our own. Please stop by the Concession Stand and sign up to work a shift. (Pies are our best sellers) ;) BoxTop Collection is ongoing and we are gearing up for our final 2014-15 school year send off. Please send your BoxTops to school with your student to drop off in our collection boxes as soon as possible. They take a great deal of time to prepare for our send off. Essay Contest with cash prizes! We are looking for middle school and high school students interested in competing in a patriotic essay contest. This year’s topic is: “Why Is America Exceptional?”. Prizes for both middle school and high school winners are: 1st place $100; 2nd Place $75, 3rd Place $50. There is an additional $1,000 Rathbun Scholarship for the HS 1 st Place Winner. Information packets will be in the school offices beginning Jan. 6, 2015. These packets will have more detailed information about entrance requirements and procedures. The deadline for submission of entries is February 4, 2015. Sponsored by the Elbert County Republican Women. The Awards Ceremony will be held April 16th at Frontier High School. Elizabeth C-1 School District, in partnership with the Pines & Plains Libraries, has received a grant to house one of the Weigh and Win kiosks at the Elizabeth Library. The kiosk will be installed in mid-January – stop in to the library at 651 W Beverly Street to weigh in. There are flyers in each of our buildings explaining this program.
