I also have a lot of experience managing creative teams, providing direction, leadership and guidance. Education I have pursued creative endeavors my entire life and have always pushed myself to grow and expand artistically in ways which have made me a very well rounded creative person. Illustration, painting, photography, graphic design, 3d modeling & animation, video editing and sculpture are just some of the many areas I have explored prior to and since my formal study. Additionally, my time at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design (1994-1995, Graphic Design, Photography, Figure Drawing) was invaluable as it focused my creative attention, allowing me to gain a deeper understanding of artistic methodologies as well as facilitating a strong willingness to give and accept critical review. NSCAD also helped hone my ability to communicate creative ideas before the fact in such a way as to be able to help prospective clients understand the creative and technical ramifications of choosing certain paths, and in helping them figure out what directions their projects should take. (Professional Experience, continued) 2009 – July 2014 Atlantis Systems Corp / Bluedrop Performance Learning, Dartmouth / Halifax, NS (Media Team Lead/Senior Media Developer) Managed media department through development, methodologies, scheduling, hiring, task assignments and production for multimedia on all projects including but not limited to the following; Maritime Helicopter Project (CH148 Cyclone) This massive project involved creating all the training and simulation courseware required for DND's (ongoing) acquisition and deployment of the of the CH148 Cyclone helicopter, set to replace the aging Sea King fleet. Tasks included; o Define and refine processes and methodologies for development of all 3D content. o Interact with both Sikorsky and DND on a regular basis to provide updates and steer direction of work. o Interact with Instructional Systems Designers and Subject Matter Experts to assure media meets all requirements as defined by both departments. o Report to Project Manager on a regular basis to provide updates as to status of work, and to flag potential areas of risk. o Review 3D output for quality and standards. o Manage and delegates 3D tasks. QL5B Training - Game Scenario Created media to support a Level 3 interactive learning environment for the student to practice procedure, assess and solve problems. Also aided in prototyping and creating proof of concept as well as creating2d/3d media assets and delegating media creation tasks to the team. Engine Change Unit Electronic Performance Support System (EPSS) Manage 3d media tasking and methodologies for the creation of all 3d media assets. I also performed all 3d media and video editing mentorship to the team. I also interacted with the client, Project Manager, ISD's and SME's to ensure media met all requirements. Air Marshalling Virtual Trainer (AMVT) Manage project media team for timely and efficient creation interface and 3d assets used in our in-game Unity platform. I was also in constant contact with DND, Project Mangers, Instructional Systems Designers, Subject Matter Experts and third party System Engineering teams to assure alignment of all media related tasks as well as delegation of work out to our internal media team. Ultra Electronic Promotional Video This project involved creating a several minute long promotional video for Ultra Electronics (viewable on my portfolio site) that was undertaken almost entirely on my own for Atlantis. I was responsible for all aspects of the project media including conceptualization, storyboarding, modeling, animation, rendering, video editing and so forth. I also delegated some tasks to the media team, and reported daily to the local Project Manager and the client themselves. CH146 Griffon Manage project media team throughout development and implementation of all media, as well as setting standards and guidelines for 3d and 2d assets, and assuring such were met. I also interacted with PM's, ISD's, SME's and the client regularly to assure all work remained within scope. (Professional Experience, continued) CT114 Tutor Landing Gear / Ejection Seat Manage project media team throughout all aspects of media creation including data gathering trips to visit 15 Wing at CFB Moose Jaw, during which I lead the media acquisition of all photographic and video reference materials. Once acquired, I lead the project media team through the creation of all 3d media, reported daily to the PM and interacted regularly with ISD's and SME's to ensure media alignment with project requirements. CT142 Main Landing Gear / Prop & Blade Manage project media team throughout media development from first conceptualization through to final delivery. Tasks included the creation of media for prototyping, through to final material as well as delegation of tasks and reporting to the PM regularly to communicate issues and potential road blocks. 2008 – 2009 Finaldog Media, Bedford, NS (Sole Proprietor) Completed ongoing freelance work in areas such as web development, user interface design, and implementation. Used Flash marketing tools and CD/DVD based Flash demos among many other things. Client base ranges from local through west coast USA and the UK. 2002 – 2008 Winstorm Presents Inc, Dartmouth, NS (Senior Media Developer) Responsibilities included managing all project workload and overseeing production throughput by connecting with project managers and feeding required work through the appropriate production staff. Maintained detailed production briefs which were presented at weekly meetings. Responsible for all design and creative collateral for client base, which included the State of Pennsylvania, Fairmont Hotels, Delta Hotels, Aliant, Colgate-Palmolive, and Carnival Cruises. Created initial look and feel material based on client/project briefs and developed all design elements of each project from it's inception through final delivery. 2000 – 2002 David Titus Productions, Bedford, NS (Sole Proprietor) Work included everything from initial contact/sales to client follow through, i.e. content specifications, creation, and final delivery. Conducted illustration, animation, graphic design, and web/multimedia services to companies worldwide. Typical projects included: Box art and marketing material for several Sony Playstation / Nintendo games Storyboard for Visa television commercial Web site / newsletter design and management for the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA) Web site design and upkeep for Video Symphony, a Hollywood CA based media training facility Logo and auto detail design for Bott Motorsports, a racing team in Arizona 3D animation, modeling, and video editing for MDS, an industrial training company based in Kansas Contract included the full 3D modelling, texturing, and animation of an entire power plant located in Gantt, Alabama. 3D modelling and texturing for many in-game models for an online flight simulator called “Target – Korea” produced by a company called Targetware. 1999 – 2000 Learning Design Studios, Dartmouth, NS (Co-founder / Creative Director) Focused largely on online Flash applications that would entertain as well as educate. 1998 – 1999 Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS (Multimedia Developer) Completed graphic design, animation, and training for both internal university use as well as for various affiliated companies and associations. 1997 – 1998 Ekistics Planning & Design, Dartmouth, NS (Multimedia Developer) Developed multimedia kiosk presentation for a Blueberry Festival held annually in Nova Scotia including the design and animation of the main characters, backgrounds, and other elements primarily using Flash, Director, and Photoshop. (Professional Experience, continued) 1996 – 1997 Quagga Web Services, Halifax, NS (3D/Graphic Designer) This position have me completing the design and build of corporate web sites for various clients, as well as developed 3D assets used for company marketing efforts and the pursuit of new contracts. 1985 – 1996 Freelance Creative, Lower Sackville, NS My early days as a freelance creative provider covered a wide variety of projects and clients including a calendar for the Bedford Toy Library, signage for a variety of local businesses and an ongoing comic strip for the Bedford Weekly Newspaper.
