The BLM Municipal Manager, Mr Thoka Kgoale has warned the members of the
public to be on alert following incidents by fake municipal official in several parts of
the municipality.
According to reports robbers prey on unemployed/job seekers promising them jobs
at Blouberg Local Municipality and in some cases they demand instant cash to
‘secure positions’.
Members of the public are urged to note that genuine municipal officials won’t
approach community members offering jobs on the streets, demand cash payments
etc.
The BLM has the Human Resource Unit, the Recruitment and Selection Policy in the
place which include among others; advertising of vacant municipal posts (in local
regional, national newspapers and website)
Any suspicious looking municipal official should be reported immediately to the
police.
