In-class final summative evaluations are held during regularly scheduled class periods as needed during the final weeks of classes. The last day of classes is
January 20th, 2015. There will be a tutorial period in the morning of January 21 st from 8:25 a.m. - 10:15 a.m., and you are to make arrangements with your
teachers as to when and which classroom to meet for tutorial help. The formal examination period runs from 11:30 a.m. on January 21st until January 26th.
During exams, students should be in school only on days they have exams, or have made arrangements for extra-help appointments with teachers. It is your
responsibility to be at each of your exams on the scheduled date, time and location. No extr a time is pr ovided for late ar r ivals. Late students will
report directly to their scheduled exam room and use the remaining time allotted. The time of the arrival will be written on the exam paper by the supervising
teacher.
Exam Changes and School Cancellation
If the school is officially closed by the Peel District School Board for an emergency or due to weather, then the exams for that day will be written on the next
day the school is re-opened. The remainder of the exam schedule will be moved forward by the same number of days as the school was closed. All revisions
to the examination schedule will be posted in the main hallway, on the school website at www.tlkennedy.com, and a Synrevoice voice message will be
sent out early in the morning in the event of examination postponement due to school closing / bus cancellations.
Students are also encouraged to check reliable news sources (e.g., CP24, AM 680 Radio) for school closures.
Before Exams
Examinations are your final demonstration of knowledge and understanding of course content. Do not wait until the night before your exam to begin studying! Plan and follow through on studying for each exam on several occasions. Start organization, review and analysis of your course work weeks in advance
(i.e., right now!). Have a good night’s sleep, and eat a healthy breakfast before your exam. Make sure you bring all of the necessary materials to each exam. Arrive to your exam 15 minutes early and make sure you have taken care of all your personal needs before your exam so you are able to write the entire
exam without having to use the washroom.

Academic Honesty
Students are responsible to ensure that the knowledge and skills demonstrated during exams are their own. Students will lose credit for their exam if they
communicate in any way with another student during the evaluation or have unauthorized materials or equipment with them during the exam. The use of cell
phones and other electronics devices is strictly prohibited!

NOTES

7.
You will be admitted to the examination room five minutes before the exam is scheduled to begin.
You must write the exam in the room designated unless prior arrangements have been made with the teacher or staff member.
Subject related notes, coats, backpacks, bags and electronic devices (including all cell phones) are to be left in the front of the classroom. It is recommended that cell phones not be brought to school during exams.
Once the exam begins, please do not leave your seat for any reason. Notify the teacher by raising your hand if you require assistance, materials, or
need to ask a question.
Any attempt at collusion or communication with another student will result in an exam mark of zero.
Students must stay in the exam room for the duration of the exam or when the teacher notifies you that you may leave.
Ensure that you have signed the attendance sheet at the beginning of the exam period.
After Exams
When leaving an exam, please move quickly and quietly through the halls as other exams may still be in progress. Please leave the building immediately
upon completion of exams for that day. While in the building, students must follow regular school rules and behave appropriately.
Absence During Exams
The only acceptable absences from exams are for serious illness or death of a close family member. Students who miss an evaluation due to medical reasons
must provide a medical note from your family doctor clearly indicating the doctor had examined the student and found the student unfit to write the
scheduled exam on that day. The note needs to be given to the Vice-Principal within 24 hours of the scheduled exam. In the case of a death in the
family, parents must contact the Vice-Principal as soon as possible. Students missing exams for the reasons outlined above will be expected to make arrangements to rewrite the exams. Missed exams due to an absence will result in a mark of zero unless the above evidence is provided. There will be no rescheduling exams to accommodate holiday travel.
