Knights of Columbus Birthright Collection Report
Thanks to all the parishes that participated in this
year’s Knights of Columbus annual rose drive to raise
money for Birthright in Decorah. Proceeds go to help
those with unplanned pregnancies safely deliver and
care for their children. It’s hard to think of a more godly cause. This year the parishes of our cluster donated
$1,195.89 and on Monday night in West Union the
Knights decided to give an even $1,250 to Birthright.
Thanks especially go to Bill Bouska for all his efforts to
arrange the logistics of this act of charity and thanks to
Clem Schemmel for heading up the charge in Sumner.
May God Bless the Knights of Columbus for all they
do.

Pope’s intentions for January
Universal: Peace - That those from diverse religious traditions and all people of good will may
work together for peace.
Evangelization: Consecrated life - That
in this year dedicated to consecrated
life, religious men and women may rediscover the joy of following Christ and
strive to serve the poor with zeal.
Stewardship Quote
There is a certain urgency in today’s Gospel as Jesus calls
His first disciples---Andrew and Simon, James and John.
Each one follows Jesus immediately, unhesitatingly abandoning nets and boats and father and fellow-workers. To what
is Jesus calling me---at this moment, in these circumstances?
What will I need to abandon in order to follow Him?
