MSCC, with some 5,000 business members, plays a major role at the State House advising legislators on business issues and promoting a stronger economy. The KV Chamber works closely with MSCC on mutual interests. Women’s Network, Feb. 11, Senator Inn Bicycling Means Business Nancy Grant started her bicycle/ pedestrian advocacy career back in 2000, deciding that her town of North Yarmouth needed paved shoulders and sidewalks. During her 5 year quest to make that vision a reality, she learned about community politics, transportation policies and funding biking and walking infrastructure and the many benefits of active community environments. That experience led her to join the Bicycle Coalition of Maine board in 2005 and become the Executive Director in 2011. While she’s been an avid cyclist her whole life, she is most energized by the potential of bicycle commuting and working with local communities to make their towns more bike/ped friendly. Major Women’s Network sponsors are Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield and Bangor Savings Bank.
