February Student of the Month
CONGRATULATIONS
HAYDEN BURTIS
February's Student of the Month
Hayden has been chosen Student of the Month for
February. He was nominated by Mrs.
Horn. She nominated Hayden for being an incredibly
mature and responsible person. He has proven
himself to be a leader and is not afraid to stick up for
others on a daily basis. If another student is being
bullied, Hayden steps up for that person. That is very
admiral in today's world.
Scholarship Opportunity
Any Seniors pursuing a degree in Criminal
Justice/Law Enforcement...information and
applications for the Bob Quarello Memorial
Scholarship is available in Student
Services. Please see Mrs. Bishop if you
are interested in applying. Application
deadline is April 1, 2015.
HOPE Week
Student Council is sponsoring HOPE week
the week of February 23rd. HOPE week
supports the Dax Locke Foundation, a
foundation that funds research and
outreach for families with children that
battle cancer. Dress up during HOPE week
for a chance to win special prizes and help
support the foundation by stopping by the
table at lunch to pick up some Dax gear.
Dance for Dax
The Dance for Dax will be held on
February 28th in the Commons. Tickets
go on sale on Monday, February
16th. The theme for the dance is "Black
and White For the Fight". Tickets are $5
and can be purchased at lunch. Dress
code will be strictly enforced.
Dodge Ball for Dax Tournament
The Dodge Ball for Dax Tournament will
be held from 6-9pm on Monday,
February 23rd. Teams of 6 can sign up
for a $30 donation at lunch, or you
can join a team randomly with a $5
donation. Help someone "dodge“
cancer by signing up today!
Ozark Delight Lollipops
See a student council member to
purchase one of our delicious "Ozark
Delight" lollipops for only $1. All
proceeds go to the Dax Locke
Foundation.
“You’ve Goff to have Hope”
T-Shirts
"You've Goff to Have HOPE" shirts are now
being sold during lunch. Last day to buy
shirts to help support Ms. Robin Goff will be
Thursday, February 12th. All proceeds will
benefit Ms. Goff directly. Shirts will also be
worn on the Monday of HOPE week.
HOPE Club
HOPE Club will meet after school
Wednesday in 235B. We will be setting
up our booth for Freshman orientation.
Attention boys in the Class of 2016
The American Legion is sponsoring a leadership camp, known
as Premier Boys State, for young men beginning Saturday,
June 13, 2015 and ending on June 19, 2015. Typically, about
700 boys from across the state attend to learn more about
leadership, political sciences, and government. In addition, the
camp provides wide ranges of recreation activity in sports and
music; and many colleges and universities give participation
favorable consideration in the selection process for admission
to their schools. Any boy interested in obtaining more
information or an application should contact David Scott at
