Applications are now available in the Activities Office. Applicants must be 11th graders and able to attend the summer convention May 31-June 6, 2015. Completed applications are due Friday, February 20, 2015. Questions? See Mrs. Moran Juniors & Seniors - If you are taking a Metro class during 4th quarter, please submit your registration form. Attention: Students interested in more information about the ASVAB Test or about the Military in General please come to the STC office and sign up for the "Military Career Day", to be held on Tuesday February 24, 2015. This session will be held during TST in Computer LAB B31. Deadline for sign up will be Friday February 20, 2015. The Family & Consumer Science Department's February Student of the Month is Zuly Castillo. Congratulations! Anyone interested in helping with Special Olympics Tennis should see Coach Bigsby in B116 for more information. Sessions begin this Sunday and more on-court helpers are needed!" SENIORS: An EducationQuest Foundation representative will be at the high school media center on February 19 and March 25 to assist parents who need help filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form online. Students can register in the counseling office or parents can register by calling the counseling office at 402-727-3056. Hey listen up! FHS Letter Club is hosting the first annual Snowball Formal! The dance will be February 20th at Lenihan Gym - across from the city auditorium. Doors will close at 10:15. No outside dates will be allowed. Pop and Pizza will be available for a dollar. Entertainment by Punching Puppets and DJ Ty Hansen. Ticket sales will begin this Friday the 13th at all lunches! Tickets will be $3; we hope to see you all on the dance floor! Yearbook Sales: Second semester yearbook sales will take place this Thursday and Friday. You can order your award-winning 2015 Black & Gold yearbook in room B34 before or after school, as well as during all lunches. The cost of the 2015 yearbook is $65 or $70 with name-stamping. smART will be meeting Thursday, February 12th after school in D110. Please come prepared to work on the website and mural ideas. Student Government: Please meet Thursday, February 12th during TST in the College Center. Circle of Friends: ALL MEMBERS will meet Thursday, February 12th during TST in B6. Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo is now accepting applications for well-spoken individuals to work in their guest service area. You will be guaranteed a minimum of 16 hours per week. Positions available… mid-spring to mid-fall. For more information see the flyer posted in the School-to-Career office. Letterclub will meet this Friday in the Bahe Gym during TST. If you have lettered in a VARSITY sport, you should plan to attend this meeting! It is never too late to join. We will finalize plans for the Winter Dance AND sign up for additional concessions. If you have not purchased a club shirt, they will be available for $7.50. Multicultural Club: There will be a Multicultural Club meeting on Friday, Feb 13th during TST in L3. PINK OUT/COMMUNITY NIGHT is Friday, February 13 at the girls and boys basketball games vs. Lincoln High. Wear your PINK and support your Tigers. Raffle, Community Booths for prizes, Cotton Candy stand and more! Cost is $2 for adults and $1 for students. NO PASSES will be accepted. Proceeds will go to the Susan G Komen Foundation. JUNIORS & SENIORS: UNO is hosting a Housing Showcase on Saturday, February 28 from 11:00 – 3:00. The tour will begin at the Scott Conference Center. Students and parents will be given the opportunity to see UNO’s residence halls, the College of Business and Peter Kiewit Institute. No registration is required. JUNIORS: Applications are available for the Eighth Annual Pinnacle Bank High School Leader luncheon for area high school juniors to be held on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Midland University. Students must be in good academic standing, demonstrate leadership qualities, and be recommended by the principal, a faculty/staff member or community leader for their leadership activities. Applicants must be in good social standing within the school and community. Applications may be picked up in the FHS counseling office and must be returned directly to Midland University by March 4, 2015. JUNIORS - The Junior Law Cadet Program – In June, the Nebraska State Patrol and the American Legion will be sponsoring a 4-day camp at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island. The program will be held June 8-12(female) and June 15-19(male). This camp is for any junior interested in learning about a law enforcement career. More information and application is available online at: www.nebraskalegion.net. Valentine’s Day Flowers: Don’t forget to get your carnations and “I have a crush on you” cans of pop. Student Government will be selling them through Thursday in the cafeteria during all lunches. Crush cans are $2.00 and carnations are only $1.50. Come over and show that special someone how much you care! SENIORS/JUNIORS: College representatives will be visiting FHS during lunch and will be located in the conference room of the counseling center. If you want to visit with a college rep., sign-up sheets are located outside the counseling office.
