February Volunteer Memo
Important Parent Volunteer Information
1 student attending HAAS = 20 volunteer hours  2 or more students attending = 30 volunteer hours
The deadlines to complete the 2nd half of the required volunteer hours are below:
 All families with Grade 8 students must complete their family volunteer hours by April 24, 2015 or the
Grade 8 students will forfeit participation in any end-of-year activities and siblings will be withdrawn from
the school.
 All remaining families must complete their required volunteer commitment by May 15, 2015, or this will
result in your child(ren) being withdrawn from the school for the 2015-2016 school year.
 Listed below are the upcoming February Volunteer Opportunities 
PARENT WORKSHOPS: Feb. 3, 4, & 5, 2015 - Parent RSVP Required to Attend

NOTE: If your planning on attending a Parent Workshop you are not eligible to
volunteer for that evening.
PTC MEETING: (Parent Teacher Co-op): Tuesday, February 10, 2015 5:00 pm
The HAAS PTC is structured in a manner that respects the importance of time with
family engagement in the school community. A major component of the PTC team
structure for events, fundraisers, and identifying the needs of the school. Parents will
earn 1 volunteer hour for attending. (Must sign in to receive hours.)
USED UNIFORM SET-UP and SALE: Tuesday, February 10, 2015 5:30 pm
This volunteer opportunity is available on a first come, first serve basis and spaces are
limited. Interested parents can contact Mr. Williams, the Volunteer Coordinator,
directly at [email protected].
SAC MEETING: Tuesday, February 10, 2015 6:00 pm
The purpose of the School Advisory Council is to serve in an advisory capacity and to
provide a forum to facilitate communication among HAAS parents, teachers, the
Hollywood community, and administration, as related to school-wide issues in an
atmosphere of due process, cooperation, and trust. Parents will earn 2 hours for
attending (must sign in to receive hours).
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART: Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 8:30 am - 2:30 pm
Parent volunteers will chaperone classroom students to and from Jefferson Park,
distribute water, assist with program activities, and more. Check out the link below

PARENT VOLUNTEER DRESS CODE
When volunteering at HAAS, parents are required to adhere to the dress code below or they will not be allowed
to volunteer for the day (until they change).



Closed toed shoes only. Absolutely no flip
flops or sandals are permitted
Bottoms (shorts or skirts) must be knee
length or longer
No spaghetti or thin straps or tank tops



No low cut blouses/shirts
No sheer, see-through, or
revealing clothing
No cell phone or earbud usage
permitted while volunteering
