Marine Products Overview
Tyco Valves & Controls remains a leader in the Marine Industry, providing an
extensive range of quality valves, actuators and controls to the Navy and
commercial shipbuilders. Over the years applications have grown and Tyco has
responded with new, innovative products designed to meet the harsh
environment of offshore service.
One of our brands, Keystone, is known in the Marine Industry for quality
resilient seated and high performance butterfly valves that meet Navy
Mil-V-22133 and Mil-V-24624 requirements as well as rubber seated and
firesafe ventilation valves. Tyco also has the Vanessa metal-seated, triple offset
valve, available with an aluminum bronze marine trim that provides significant
space and weight savings over traditional gate valves.

Triple-Offset Torque
Seated Valves
Vanessa Triple Offset
A typical high performance butterfly valve is manufactured with either a single or double
offset shaft design. These shaft offsets are created by designing the valve with the
shaft located behind the CL of the sealing surface and slightly to side of the pipe CL. The
purpose of these offsets is to reduce the rubbing and thus the wear between the seat
and seal to approximately 20 degrees of travel.Vanessa adds a unique third (inclined
cone - offset 3) to allow not only camming, but also to completely eliminate all seat-toseal rubbing throughout the valve’s entire 90 degrees of rotation.
Vanessa 30,000
• Commercial trims available in carbon steel, stainless steel and special alloy options.
• Marine/Navy trim available with an aluminum bronze body, disc and seat, with Monel®
shaft and seal ring. Valves also available in cres 316 Stainless, Inconel® 625 and other
materials.
• Vanessa is suitable for use in firemain isolation as well as many other applications
where tight shut-off valves are required.

Standard Network Protocols
The Network Card
DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, FOUNDATION fieldbus
and AS-interface have emerged as
accepted standards for interfacing discreet
devices.
Depending upon the network standard
selected (DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, FOUNDATION
fieldbus, AS-interface, LonWorks or
Modbus) a dedicated network card is
integrated within the enclosure of each
PlantNet Control Monitor.
They have proved to be extremely reliable,
simple to understand and consistently cost
effective. These two major network
standards readily integrate with PLC’s and
DCS systems from various manufacturers,
through off-the shelf gateway or scanner
interfaces.

Series 460D3 and 515D3 are designed with a removable capsule incorporating high
pressure disc trap technology. These traps are designed for a variety of high pressure
applications found in utility, industrial and marine service. Typical applications include
steam tracing, steam main drip and turbine drain. The small, lightweight design and
broad range of operating pressures are among the many advantages when
compared to mechanical traps of the same pressure rating. In addition, the quick
change capsule design is renewable in-line with factory assembled internals without
the need to disturb the piping.
