40 Days of Prayer and Fasting. We are now well in to our season of prayer and fasting
but it’s not too late to join in. To receive the daily email for the 40 Days resource please
email Ruth Hughes.
'End of Fast' Church Family Meal on Saturday 28th February at 5pm
A Church Family meal for us all to enjoy together at the end of the 40 Days of Prayer and
Fasting. Bring and Share some food to add to the banquet table, and our catering team will
provide drinks and cakes. We'll eat together, enjoy some relaxed worship and share some
of our reflections from the 40 Days. There will be unsupervised play activities available
throughout the evening in the Hall for our children and young people. For Parents with
toddlers, we'll clear the Vestry and bring in some of the creche toys for when you need to
use it. Please Sign Up on the relevant sheet on the 'Sign Up Noticeboard' beside the coffee
servery.
The Hill Cliffe Annual Pancake Party will be held on the 17th February 2015 at Hill
Cliffe Baptist Church from 3pm till 630pm. All proceeds from the sale of the pancakes
will go to Active Hope. Please pick up a leaflet from the foyer and please invite friends
and family and neighbours along. For any further information speak to Andrea Whitehead
or Paul and Deb Beards.
Media Watch: Mary Whitehouse has been mentioned at the Care Election Forum and in
other places this past week. Fifty years on, her work of trying to govern the media is
carried on by “Mediawatch - UK”. They would be glad to know of your interest in their
work and have your participation in lobbying for better regulation, sometimes simply at
the click of a button, on-line.
The new edition of “Word for Today” and young people’s equivalent, “Word 4 U 2day”
for Feb, Mar and April, is by the far low window in the hall Please take a copy. First time
readers have it FREE. If you have it more than once, you’re asked to put 50p towards
costs into the box adjacent. Last quarter we seemed to run out of copies. If you would
have liked a copy bit couldn’t find one, please let Eleanor Kunar know. UCB, who
produce these publications, would prefer to send you your copy direct rather than have you
pick it up at church, for reasons of cost. You can fill out a form in your current edition to
that end, if you like.
Day Camp 2015! The dates for this year's Day Camp are Monday 24th August until
Friday 28th August. We've already had enquiries from families planning their school
holidays, so please start praying about how you can be involved this year. Any questions,
please see Jennie Gray or John Harper.
Active Hope Clothing Collection Jan-March: If you have any items you wish to give to
our annual fund raiser do take a flier listing the items we can take and please bring bags to
church any time and leave behind the desk in the foyer. Thanks to all those who have
already had a clear out, it’s much appreciated. If you would like to know where the
clothing ends up check out the website of the company we use
