15.1 DOOR MOUNT INSTALLATION
The cutout and drill holes are to be made according to the following measurements for door mount
installation (installation template included with delivery).

15.2 KEY LABELS
The keys shown below can be labelled with legend strips. The key legend strip slots can be
accessed from the back.
NOTE:
Labels can also be printed on transparency sheets using a standard laser printer.
15.3 FUNCTION KEYS
The basic functions of the 26 function keys and the respective LEDs can be defined by the user.
The “Layer” key allows the entry of letters A..Z.
The function keys can be labeled by the user using legend strips. Only the area below the letters
can be labeled. The letters themselves are printed by B&R.

15.4 SOFTKEYS
The entire key can be labeled for softkeys.
15.5 SPECIAL KEYS
It is important to note that a maximum of two (2) keys can be pressed at the same time in order
for the key code to be interpreted correctly. If more than two (2) keys are pressed at the same time,
the keys being pressed can no longer be identified! An important exception is the combination
<Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Del>, which for example is used in MS-Windows® NT to log in (among other
uses).
15.6 LEDS
The Status LEDs shown below are available in the lower left corner of the display. They indicate
the following states:
POWER - The supply voltage for the display unit is available and the communication between FPC
(Flat Panel Controller) and MTC (Maintenance Controller) is working.
USER - Can be defined by the user.
HDD - Signals that the hard disk is currently being accessed.
TEMP - Signals that a temperature sensor has measured an excessive temperature.
15.7 INSTALLING THE CONTROLLER
The controller is installed on the back side of the housing. The screws included with the delivery
must be used to install the controller.

15.8 CONNECTING THE DISPLAY TO THE CONTROLLER
The display cable is to be connected to the flat panel interface. The cable required for standard
connection (on back of display unit) is included.

15.9 TOUCH PAD, TOUCH SCREEN
PROVIT 5600 display units can be equipped with various touch devices (Touch Pad, Touch
Screen). The following table shows which of these devices are available on the display units with
the model numbers listed below.

15.10 KEYPAD
The display unit is equipped with a keypad.
The configuration is made with the MKEY utilities
(see "PROVIT MKEY Utilities User's Manual").
The keys are evaluated with the respective MKEY driver software.
15.11 BRIGHTNESS
The brightness (background lighting) can be set with software.
