Open AA Events / Meetings
As stated in our Traditions, Al-Anon cooperates with
AA and guides us to encourage and understand our
alcoholic relatives. We can do this by attending open
meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous with the purpose
to learn more about the disease of alcoholism.

Gratitude For My New Attitude
I’m very appreciative of what our Al-Anon Service
Center provides me. I believe it keeps me striving
within myself, it gives me insight and I have learned
qualities I can apply to my everyday life, such as: my
self esteem, my leadership, and my confidence. I
believe in my ability to offer Al-Anon to customers.
Giving a few hours here and there is my way of giving
grateful and sincere effort to spread happiness! I
really love refilling literature, I enjoy talking with the
staff, and the “HOLD” button is great for when I have
to gather my composure. Finding solutions like that is
fuel, so when I’m not there, I don’t cower out of fear
(mostly). I can pause...gather a plan... and positively
strive forward. Taking the initiative to volunteer for
such a wonderful cause fills me with the leadership
and confidence I need to stand up for myself. I love
my program and I squeeze with love. My best love is
when I see literature I get to say, “That could be a
piece I helped with!” We stay like a well-oiled
machine, when we keep volunteering our services to
Al-Anon. These are just a few of my light bulbs of
clarity I found by volunteering at our Service Center.
Thank You, Al-Anon for teaching me to love and
respect myself,
With Sincere Love Always,
Sharon D.
