Yasar University, an English medium, foundation university, is located in the centre of the city of
Izmir on the scenic west coast of Turkey. The university offers over 60 degree programmes at

Academic Achievement Scholarship
Undergraduate students enrolled at Yaşar University are eligible for scholarships based on their
academic performance. Any student, who has completed the first academic year and achieved a
grade point average of above 2.30 out of 4.00, will be eligible to apply for an academic
scholarship. Within the quota determined, scholarships for the following academic year, will be
awarded on a 100%, 50% and 25% basis. The scholarship will continue as long as the student’s
grades are maintained.
Tuition fees also include membership to the university library and sports facilities, an assigned
academic advisor, support classes in Turkish, graduate bench fees, as well as access to the
campus and IT facilities 24/7. Payment of fees should be made by bank transfer in one or two
installments, as outlined in the registration instructions. Fees at Yasar University are subject to
review on an annual basis in line with currency fluctuations.
Yasar University Halls of Residence
New university halls of residence have been built and are located within five minutes walk of the
university campus. The buildings accommodate some 400 students, and places are guaranteed
for all international students in their first year of study. All rooms (twin or triple bed options)
have en suite bathrooms and are furnished to the highest standard with the student’s needs in
mind. A mini fridge, free unlimited wireless internet access, hot water (24 hours a day), central
heating in winter and air conditioning in summer, is also provided.
Cost of Living
Student life in the Aegean is known to be one of the most affordable in Turkey, thanks to the
mild climate and the abundance of local food. An average monthly student budget is outlined
below for guidance purposes. Costs will vary according to each individual’s needs.
