The multitude of clinical indications, patient health conditions and aesthetic demands require a palette of regenerative solutions. Botiss has developed a substantial range of materials to meet the needs of today´s clinicians. The scientific background of botiss biomaterials; their Predictable hard and soft tissue augmentation in the daily practice different physico-chemical and biological properties, as well as current studies stating their success will be presented. One of the most challenging procedures in implantology is the predictable and safe regeneration of bone and soft tissue defects. Besides autogenous bone, different biomaterials such as bone substitutes, collagen scaffolds and membranes have shown predictable results in jaw augmentation procedures. For soft tissue augmentation procedures, specific collagen matrices have been established to allow for gingiva thickening and recession coverage. In contrast to the patient´s own bone and soft tissue, the use of biomaterials is not accompanied by donor site morbidity. However, available bone substitutes differ significantly in terms of biochemical aspects, influencing the volume stability, speed of bone formation, graft remodeling and patient´s acceptance. Also the quality of the recipient site, the osteogenicity of the graft, a transmembraneous angiogenesis of the barrier and the selected healing time are affecting the regeneration outcome. Depending on the defect´s shape, careful selection from different graft materials and techniques should be aimed to achieve the best regeneration outcome. Dr. med. dent. Orcan Yüksel Dr. med. dent. Orcan Yüksel studied dentistry at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt. Since 1993 he has been operating his dental practice and implantological training facilities in Frankfurt, specializing in dental aesthetics and oral implantology. He is certified as an implantologist and implantological trainer by the European Association of Dental Implantologists (BDIZ-EDI).
