This study day explores both conventional and complementary aspects of care
and management for women with nausea, vomiting and related symptoms such
as heartburn and hyper-salivation. We explore the causes, predisposing factors
and issues which exacerbate symptoms, including some new theories and contemporary research findings.
Complementary therapy treatment takes an integrated approach, in which a
range of strategies are used in combination to ease symptoms and aid maternal
coping. We also consider the ways in which professionals working with women
suffering nausea and vomiting can assess them and identify the most appropriate
individual treatment.
