BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE! LETTER FROM DAVID SAMSON Dear South Florida Community: As Jeffrey Loria enters his 9th season as Owner of your Florida Marlins, he and the entire organization are proud to announce the construction of a new retractable roof, air conditioned ballpark opening in 2012. One of the most important underlying reasons for our seven-year effort was to ensure the continued growth and vitality of the Florida Marlins Community Outreach Department and our Community Foundation. While we have been able to be significant community partners, we are now ready and excited to do even more. During these historic economic times, it is very important for all South Florida corporations of any size to significantly contribute to all areas of need in our community. We take this responsibility very seriously, because the legacy of our franchise will be framed only slightly by our success on the field and almost entirely by our contributions off the field. We are honored to be a part of the South Florida landscape and will continue our quest to achieve more each year for generations to come. Thank you for taking the time to review just a few of the activities that the Community Outreach Department and Foundation undertakes each year. Sincerely, Marlins Owner Jeffrey H. Loria David P. Samson CORNERSTONES FOR KIDS / POR LOS NINOS Cornerstones for Kids: The foundation of every child’s future is a strong mind and a strong body.
