PARISH MISSION STATEMENT
We, the parishioners of Saint Anastasia, are a strong faith based community, grounded in more than a century of Catholic
tradition rooted in worship and service. Compelled by the Good News of Jesus Christ, we are committed to growing in a
deeper relationship with God and with one another. We strive to become a more vibrant parish by inspiring an atmosphere
of belonging, of welcoming, and by promoting opportunities to share and spread our Catholic Faith, so that we may be
more united as one parish community.

REMEMBER OUR DECEASED
Please pray for all the deceased members of the St. Anastasia Faith Community that they may be welcomed into the
happiness of eternal life especially, Dorothy Rudnick, Mary Doherty, Mary King, Michael Pacioceo, Nick Cymbala.
Dear Parishioners of Saint Anastasia,
The leper in today’s Gospel approached Jesus and said, “If you wish, you can make me clean.” In my
mind I can see Jesus turning to him and replying along these lines: “If I wish? Of course I wish this for you!
Why wouldn’t I? I was just waiting for you to ask.”
We’re all familiar with the words, “Ask and you shall receive. Knock and it shall be opened for you.”
May we pray for the faith to ask for what we need with humility, sincerity and persistence. Maybe things
won’t happen for us immediately and in the manner we expect. And then there’s that little difference between
what we want and what we need. Our wants are many but our needs are few. May we keep that in mind as we
approach the Lord for his blessings.
Have a great week,
Fr. Colagreco

HOPE
Helping Our Parishioners In Emergency
St. Paul in his book to the Hebrews states, “We must consider how to rouse one another
to love and good works.”
As one parish community, “HOPE” is a ministry which will provide opportunities to
reach out and be of service to our shut-ins, elderly or those in need in our community.
Do you have an hour or two free during the day to drive someone to the doctor or take
someone food shopping?
Would you consider being on a list to be called when someone in the parish is in need?
Maybe, our HOPE Ministry is calling you.
This is also a way to meet someone new in the parish and to build a relationship.
If you would like to be considered for this outreach, please email or fill out the bottom of
this flyer and return it in the collection basket.
If you have any questions, feel free to email or call me.
([email protected] 484-422-8861 )
Thank you,
Sister Susan Lindinger, SSJ

A VISIT WITH POPE FRANCIS
He is coming to Philadelphia…The man who has captured the
attention, the imagination and the heart of the world! But who
is this man? What do you know of his background, his early
days? What are the controversies that have surrounded him?
What was his “conversion” experience? What is his spirituality
and how is it affecting the church today? Come, learn more
about him! Wednesday, February 25th 9:30 am or7:00 pm,
St. Anastasia Parish Rectory, Presenter: Paul J. Haggerty
The Bishops of the United States prescribe, as minimal
obligation, that all persons who are fourteen years of age
and older are bound to abstain from eating meat on
Ash Wednesday February 18th, and on all the Fridays of
Lent. All persons eighteen years of age and older, up to and
including their fifty-ninth birthday, are bound to fast by
limiting themselves to a single full meal on Ash Wednesday,
February 18th and on Good Friday, April 3rd, while the
other two meals on those days are to be light.
MEETING FOR EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS
As a follow up to the Liturgical Ministers Retreat, there is a
meeting for Extraordinary Ministers scheduled for Saturday,
February 28 in the Parish School Cafeteria. The meeting will
begin at 9:30 AM and will last about an hour. Coffee and
muffins will be served. We also scheduled a snow date for
March 7. We will answer questions and discuss some practical
aspects of the ministry, so your presence is important. Please
call the Rectory and leave a message if you are not able to make
the meeting.
Wednesday, February 18th is Ash Wednesday. Ashes will
be distributed at the 6:30 AM, 8:45 AM and 7:00 PM Masses.
Ashes will also be distributed at a 10:00 AM Mass (for the
school – parents are invited) and also at a Prayer Service at
4:30 PM.
LENTEN DEVOTIONS
All the faithful are encouraged to participate in Mass and to
receive the Most Holy Eucharist daily, to celebrate frequently
the Sacrament of Penance, to undertake spiritual reading,
especially the study of the Sacred Scriptures, and to
participate in parish Lenten Devotions as well as Lenten
Education programs. Stations of the Cross and Benediction of
the Blessed Sacrament will be held every Friday at 7:00 PM
during Lent.

and healed him. Let us pray today for the grace to be generous
with our gifts to help those who are suffering. By your gift to
the Society of St. Vincent de Paul you indeed put your faith
into action as you bring healing to the poor, hungry and
weeping.
SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL
For more than 150 years the Catholic Schools of the
Archdiocese of Philadelphia have been teaching our children
the skills and values that they need to excel throughout their
adult lives. St. Anastasia School is the largest parish grade
school in Delaware County. Our school has “state of the art”
technology and is one of only 42 privately operated
elementary schools in the nation to receive the Blue Ribbon
School of Excellence Award in 2007 from the United States
Department of Education. One of the largest expenses our
Parish incurs is the debt service on the loan which was
necessary to build our beautiful school. We ask all
parishioners to support our children and our parish school by
contributing generously, once a month, to the special offering
for the parish debt reduction. Thank you for your continued
support.
