Education/Qualifications
 Good standard of secondary
education with qualification in
GCSE English or equivalent
 Qualification in housing
management, social work,
nursing or teaching
 Excellent IT skills
 NVQ Level 2 or above

 A Level English Language
or Literature or equivalent
 Recognised training in
domestic abuse e.g.
CAADA
 Ability to speak a second
language
 Experience of working with
a computerised case
management system
Work Experience
 2 years relevant work
experience in an advice giving
role/supporting vulnerable
families and/or children
 Experience of working with
victims of domestic abuse
 Clear understanding and
awareness of domestic abuse
and the effects on victims and
their families
 Knowledge of legal, DWP
and Welfare Rights Issues
 Clear understanding of
responsibilities with regard to
safeguarding vulnerable adults
and children

 Advocacy work experience
 Experience of managing
challenging behaviours
 Training undertaken in
safeguarding
