of Perseverance
The legendary baseball player Babe
Ruth said it best: “Never let the fear of
striking out keep you from playing the
game”. The nature of our business is
filled with adversity. Personal doubts,
negative influences and “no’s” can
feel overwhelming and difficult to
overcome. We have all felt this way.
I can’t even count the number of times
someone told me no or that they didn’t
think that Forever would ever work.
But, thankfully, it never stopped me.
What sets those who are ultimately
successful apart from the rest is
the ability to face adversity with
determination, learn from their
struggle and use it as motivation to
try again. I am continually inspired
by the resilience of the people we
work with throughout the world. At
times, they may be impacted by all
manners of difficulty, hardship and
suffering, and yet, they routinely
rise to the occasion to be better
and to help others be better.

There are countless examples of
perseverance in some of the most
successful people in the world. One of
my favorites is the story of Jim Abbott.
Jim was born without a right hand and
not only excelled at sports in his youth,
but went on to become a major league
baseball pitcher. He achieved many
great things in his career including
pitching a no-hitter (something only
an elite few have accomplished!) and
winning a gold medal for the USA in
the 1988 Summer Games. Can you
imagine how many people doubted
him or told him no? It’s amazing
the things we can accomplish if we
continually strive to reach our goals!

your lives,

We are only two months away from the Global Rally in Singapore! If you are going this
year, here are a few travel tips to consider before packing your bags and hopping on a
plane to the place that was named the top country to visit in 2015 by Lonely Planet!

Airport
You will fly into Changi Airport, which
is something spectacular to behold on
its own - just wait ‘til you land, and you’ll
know why. There is plenty of shopping, a
free movie theatre, free internet, reclining
chairs, sleep zones, smoking lounges, a
super slide, indoor gardens and more.
Currency
The Singapore dollar. The conversion
rate is about $.80 USD to every
Singapore Dollar.
Language
Singapore has four official languages:
English, Malay, Tamil and Mandarin.
Weather
HOT. The average high temperature in
April is around 88 degrees Fahrenheit
and the low is 75 degrees with high
humidity, so pack your warm weather
clothes!
Food
Singapore hosts a wide array of delicious
cuisine from all over Asia and the rest of
the world. Be sure to pack your appetite
because Singapore is considered a
world food capital, and Singaporeans
love to eat! There is no shortage of street
food, especially on Smith Street where
you can indulge in plenty of local snacks
(typically costing less than $4 USD).
Singapore is also packed with some of
the world’s best restaurants that feature
Singaporean, Chinese, Indian and other
unique foods from around the world.
One local dish to try
is Nasi Lemak, which
is an aromatic rice
infused with coconut
milk and pandan
leaves, eaten with
deep-fried fish or
chicken wings, otah (grilled fish paste),
fried ikan bilis (local anchovies) served
with peanuts, eggs, cucumber slices
and sambal.
If you love seafood then the Chili crab
is another popular local dish that will
give your taste buds a thrill! With this
dish, the sauce is the most important
part – a sweet, yet savory and spicy
sauce consisting of tomatoes, chili
paste and eggs. Singapore is the place
to indulge and eat your way through
the busy streets and cafes in the funky
neighborhoods of the city!
Transportation
There are more than enough buses and
taxis around Singapore, in addition to
the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), which
runs the length
and breadth of the
country. While prices
vary depending
on distance, a fare
generally runs around
$3 USD. For just $8
USD per day, you can
purchase a Singapore Tourist Pass that
will get you unlimited rides on buses and
trains.
Activities
If you like to wander, Singapore is
packed with fascinating neighborhoods
that beg for exploration. From engaging
in rich heritage in Chinatown, to
experiencing the culture in ethnic Little
India or stepping onto Asia’s most
famous shopping street on Orchard
Road, you’re bound to be awed by
endless discoveries.
Singapore is a place buzzing with local
and international art to feast upon. One
noteworthy place is Victoria Theatre and
Concert Hall, home to the Singapore
Symphony Orchestra.
The National Museum of Singapore
is the country’s oldest museum that
showcases its history and culture. If it is
architecture that excites you, Singapore
is your heaven with Colonial buildings
and Chinese shop houses juxtaposed
with cutting-edge skyscrapers to
showcase Singapore’s mix of new
and old.
At the Singapore
Zoo you can see
endangered white
tigers, the world’s
largest collection of
Proboscis Monkeys
and amazing animal
shows. Gardens by the Bay offers
mesmerizing waterfront views and
super-sized trees. If that’s not enough,
check out the Singapore Botanical
Gardens, Chek Jawa or a night
safari! Head to Sentosa Island for the
Adventure Cove Waterpark. It offers
seven exciting water rides, a float down
Adventure River, snorkeling and more.
You can find Asia’s first Hollywood
movie theme park, Universal Studios
Singapore, located in Resorts World
Sentosa. 18 out of the 24 movie-themed
rides here were designed just for the
Singapore Park!
Last, but most certainly not least.
Shopping
Talented homegrown designers are
emerging all over the city and putting
Singapore on the fashion map. If you are
looking for big names in luxury fashion,
there is no shortage
in this upscale city.
For something more
local, step into the
smaller, independent
shops to find those
unique, quirky and
stylish items.
This is just the tip of the iceberg; there

Urieta
From working through holidays, birthdays and events,
to traveling to places they’ve never dreamed of going,
Nemesia Alcaraz and Wenceslao Urieta’s lives have
certainly changed after starting their Forever business.
With no prior training or entrepreneurial
experience, this couple has proved that
anyone can have a successful Forever
Business with the training Forever
provides and the willingness to learn and
to make life changes.
Nemesia and Wenceslao were
introduced to Forever Living through
Nemesia’s sister, Alicia, when she had
a product demonstration at her house.
Then they became familiar with the
benefits of Aloe Vera through Sara
Martínez. Later on, they met Noemí
Martínez and Ricardo López who
took the time to explain the business
opportunity and Marketing Plan to them.
Initially, Nemesia and Wenceslao only
wanted to try the products for health
reasons - they weren’t really interested
in the business, since they already had
jobs. Nemesia worked as a cook and
Wenceslao in a welding shop, which kept
them plenty busy. However, when Noemí
and Ricardo explained that they could
go from employees to entrepreneurs and
create a life where they would have more
time as a couple and for their children,
they decided it was worth a shot!
Starting their own business wasn’t easy
since the couple had always been on
the employee side of earning money and
never the employer side.
“To own a business requires a high
level of commitment. It also demands
discipline, constant training, the will
to erase the old way of doing things

and creating a new way of looking at
things. You also have to acquire new
knowledge, habits, etc. It’s definitely
challenging to be an entrepreneur, but
we welcomed the change - Latin people
love challenges!” states the couple.
Nemesia added that learning to drive
was another personal obstacle for her
to overcome. “In Houston, the greatest
challenge is not just to drive, but learning
how to navigate the highways of this
great city… and I did it!”
Wenceslao’s personal challenge was
something most people can probably
relate to:
“I used to be a very introverted
and shy person, and I didn’t like to
socialize. Overcoming that was a
great challenge for me. Now, I have
discovered that I love talking to
people, friending and sharing the
Forever opportunity with others who I
don’t even know!”

As Nemesia and Wenceslao strived
together to build their business, they
continued to set goals for themselves
and achieve them. “One of the biggest
challenges we faced was to qualify
for the car incentive. I was six months
pregnant, and it takes just three months
to qualify for this incentive. I had the
baby at the end of this period, and after
giving birth, I went back to work to
achieve Eagle Manager and Chairman’s
Bonus. To achieve these goals, we
sometimes had to sacrifice time with our
baby, but we also realized that we are in
this business to give our children a better
life.” Nemesia explained.
Both Nemesia and Wenceslao expressed
that their Forever Business is a blessing.
Their jobs used to consume their lives,
leaving NO time to spend with their
family, even on holidays, but all of that
has changed, thanks to Forever. “Now
we are FREE! What a wonderful change
Forever has brought into our lives. We
live the way we want to live, go wherever
we want to go, and we don’t have the
pressure of a time card or of being fired
from our jobs. Viva Forever!”
One of the achievements they are
most proud of after starting their
Forever Business was paying off their
mortgage.
Their business provided an income
that allowed the couple to buy a nice
Suburban for their family, afford things
that their children needed and have the
time and money to enjoy their family.
Now, they go on all-expense-paid
vacations from Forever to places they
never dreamt of traveling to.
Nemesia and Wenceslao have big goals
for the future. The couple wants to
achieve a minimum of 300cc to 400cc
each month and extend their downlines
to other cities and countries like Mexico.
Nemesia also would like to have another
baby now that her health is better than

Rex has continually shown us how
being passionate about people and
the world that we share can fulfill us in
more ways than we ever imagined. We
are truly proud to share his most recent
accomplishment, receiving the Samoan
March 2015 | Forever
Order of Merit, the highest honor given
by the Government of Samoa!
Many of you may already know that in
Samoa, Rex is Tilafaiga (pronounced
Tila-fai-gnaw), one of the highest
chiefly titles from the deepest roots
of Samoan Culture. Rex was honored
with this title after decades of hard
work and passionate service to the
people of Samoa. At age 19, Rex
responded to a call to be a voluntary
missionary in Samoa, where he served
with distinction for 30 months in
humanitarian and leadership positions.
This time left a huge imprint on Rex and
rooted the culture and people of Samoa
deep in his heart.
Years later, as Chairman of the National
Park Concessioners, he played a vital
role in the establishment of the first
National Park outside the physical
boundaries of the United States.
During this time, Rex led a delegation
to American Samoa and was able to
address the chiefs and orators in their
own language to help them understand
the environmental and cultural benefits
of having a National Park in their
territory. Then, in 1989, he joined with
others to help save 30,000 acres of lowlying rainforest land at Falealupo on the
island of Savai’i.
Rex’s efforts didn’t stop there. He
funded and led the campaign to

preserve and restore the hallowed
Sauniatu Cemetary and the island
plantation home of famous author
Robert Louis Stevenson. Now in its
21st year of operation, the Robert
Louis Stevenson Museum is one of the
leading destinations for Samoa tourism,
ensuring that more people will visit
and enjoy the beautiful Samoan lands!
Additionally, Rex has sponsored multiple
projects to get clean water to villages
and funded and built the Tilafaiga Rex
Maughan Library on the campus of the
Robert Louis Stevenson School.

Rex’s passion for the lands and people
of Samoa is unending. He continues to
work to support Samoan culture and
tourism, and it is for these reasons
and many more that the Samoan
Government extended their gratitude
and respect to him with the Order of
Merit. Rex joins a select group of 21
recipients in this high honor for their
various services to Samoa.
