The theme will be on the nature of contemporary scientific objects and the framework of Digital Cosmopolitanism through which we can understand the contexts of exchange and contact of this new ontology of scientific objects. The summer school will consists of background sessions led by Arun Bala (NUS, Singapore), Gordon McOuat (University of King’s College, Canada), Sundar Sarukkai (MCPH, India) and other academicians with recognized expertise in the theme. Applications should include the following 1. Description of research interests and their relevance to the school (max. 300 words) 2. Brief CV / resume highlighting relevant skills, experience and training 3. The objective of the course is to improve research skills and competence of young social scientists to undertake policy oriented research studies (both qualitative and quantitative) in social sciences. The participants will be exposed to theories and practical applicability of the research methods and research tools used in social science research. The approach will be classroom lectures, field training and practical exercises. The participants (30 in all) will be provided free boarding and lodging facility in the campus on twin sharing basis. No programme fee will be charged and the Institute will reimburse to and fro sleeper class train/bus fare to outstation participants. Selected candidates will be intimated in the last week of March, 2015.
