GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN
WORKSHOP
2015
About this event
Why attend?
Progressive companies are starting to use the knowledge built up for REACH
compliance to gain business advantage in the supply chain. Controlling risks related
to hazardous substances makes sense for chemical manufacturers as well as those
downstream, right the way through to final users. Data on chemical hazards and
exposures collected for REACH are being used to tackle unacceptable risks through
the supply chain. Where risks cannot be controlled, innovative companies are seeking
alternative solutions.
ENGAGING AND
PRODUCTIVE
In addition to REACH registration data, companies that have a good handle on the
other elements of the EU chemicals regime – substance evaluation, restrictions and
authorisations, as well as classifications under CLP – are working with their customers
to ensure risks are minimised with minimum disruption to the supply chain.
The two day workshop will provide visionary keynote presentations on the benefits to
businesses of taking a proactive stance on REACH knowledge through the supply chain
from the perspective of the regulators, investment community and industry themselves.
The first day will focus on case studies of supply chain excellence in each of the main
compartments of REACH and CLP – looking at how companies are using REACH
knowledge and supply chain communication channels to optimise registration,
evaluation, restriction and authorisation of chemicals for business benefit.
The second day will take a closer look at the work being done on the assessment of
alternatives to high risk chemicals, highlighting the latest thinking on substitution and
alternative assessment from the EU, the OECD and the US. The afternoon will feature
case studies from downstream sectors, including textiles, construction, retail,
and electronics.
The workshop is designed for those companies wanting to understand better the
benefits REACH and CLP can bring to their businesses.
