The President’s Corner
PROBUS Month
PROBUS Canada has proclaimed the month of March as PROBUS Anniversary month. This is based on the
establishment of The Cambridge Club as the first PROBUS Club in Canada by President Emeritus John R. Morris.
The date was March 17, 1987. A good day for the Irish! Since then over 235 clubs have been established with more
than 32,000 members in Canada and Aroostook, Maine, U.S.A. the only club in the U.S. There are more than 5000
Clubs and 400,000 members worldwide. If you ever plan a trip outside of North America you might want to consult
with member Brian Kirkwood to find out if there are any PROBUS clubs in the area you are visiting as he maintains
contacts with other countries.
The management of your club agreed that this was a good time to get a membership program started. The Mayor and
Councillors of the Town of Wasaga Beach have given permission to the 5 PROBUS Clubs of Wasaga Beach to fly a
PROBUS flag for the month of March from the Town Hall. You will see ads for PROBUS in the local newspapers
and bulletins. There will be information flyers in local businesses, the Chamber of Commerce and coffee houses.
We will be encouraging members to speak to their neighbours, especially new neighbours, who have recently moved
into the area and do not know about PROBUS. We need all of you to go talk PROBUS and bring guests to our
meetings. It’s not just for our club, but all the clubs in Wasaga Beach, so please get out there and talk about the
benefits of PROBUS.
REMEMBER:
“EVERY COMMUNITY IN CANADA NEEDS A PROBUS CLUB”

Mark A. Gobuty has had extensive experience at the
Executive level, as well as Sales functions within Tier 1
Consumer Packaged Goods Companies in Canada. He
has been a pioneer in the Functional Health Foods
industry for the past ten years and has founded a
number of Canada’s leading health food and Superfood
brands. In 2010, Mark founded The Peace Naturals
Project after discovering his passion for this industry
with his need to provide alternative medicine for his
parents, who both have suffered from serious long-term
ailments. This led him to embark on an extensive
journey with visits to a number of top medicinal
Cannabis clinics around the world. During his travels,
Mark had hands on involvement with patients and
expanded his knowledge of medicinal Cannabis
agriculture, Organics, best practices and GMP’s.
Through his Functional Health Foods business, Mark
has also worked hand-in-hand with Industrial Hemp
farmers across Canada, developing a great deal of
experience in Industrial Hemp agriculture. Mark has
relevant experience/understanding of new business
development, product development, consumer
awareness, operations, demand planning and leadership.
